Well done you!! Feels good, doesn't it?! Smile

It' weird, as I think I put some weight on quite quickly recently, so I now feel like normal (if that makes sense) which is overweight, but not too excessively, where as I had started to see my tummy moving forward and that scared the life out of me.

I'm definitely thinking of setting a goal for another stone off once I have completed this one, although I will take a week off for xmas, whatever I do.

Thanks for the well done Smile

My Mum's response when I told her...

Me: Mum I've lost 10lb on the Dukan diet.
Mum: Oh people are dying on that diet, be careful
Me: The lady I was working by over the weekend had an amazing figure and she lost 2 stone using it and she was perfectly healthy.
Mum: Don't expect to have an amazing figure just because you lose weight!
Me: Sigh, I wouldn't dream of it Mother.

So you're the first person to give me support when told.

Hahahaha... I think our Mothers may have been separated at birth... My Mum's response would have been uncannily similar.

Uncannily? Is that even a word? Pfft! You know what I mean!
I suspect typical of a certain type of old fashioned mother for whom the sun shines out of her sons backside but any daughter is constantly and routinely put down. I am afraid your own sex often do not do you any favours ladies.

Correct... Definitely sounds like a running trait of the old fashioned Mum... Not always though - Sometimes I get a nice surprise from her.

I am my Daddy's Daughter through and through, however, and that's enough for me Smile

Sadly my Mum & Dad split up when I was 3 and we only got to see him inbetween gfs. We would go for years without seeing him if he was happy. He's been married 4 times and my brother and I finally got invited to the last one, so can't say I'm a Daddy's girl either.

Thank you David xxx

Ugh! My girlfriends Dad is EXACTLY the same... Sad

I really am one of the lucky ones... I can count on one hand the number of 'first married' couples I know. So sad... Hopefully I stay married?! lol!! We've been together for 5 years and have already been through everything that would probably break up a marriage... So I think we'll be fine... Haha!
I do hope so Gia, it would be nice to know you were happy over there in Oz.

My Gran and Grandad were together till death do us part. They had over 60 years together. Sadly none of their children have managed a successful marriage.

I think the hectic lives we lead these days are to blame, plus I think there is much more of a culture of changing things if you're not happy with the prevailing situation, rather than trying to sort things out or at least ride out the storms. Of course I suspect in the days of your grandparents divorce was something only rich people did. Everyone else just had to get on with their lives, and make the best of things.

Tolerance is something that's in surprisingly short supply these days. If we could all accept each other, warts and all, and celebrate the good things about each of us instead, the world would be a happier place.

I know I've done some bitching about my homelife on here, but in a sense, having this outlet, and all you lovely supportive people, has made me realise things could actually be a lot worse. It's a lot cheaper and more fun than crappy counselling too!!

Well done Kate.
I'm happy to be home and to have weighed myself after being away and seeing i've GAINED 10lb's.

It's Burger King, The Harvester, The Chippy and the Indians fault. The bacon butties had nothing to do with it.

Crash diet for xmas now.
