I just spent 2½ hours on the phone to one of my Dad's oldest friends. I just found out his wife died 3 weeks ago. So we had a lovely time reminiscing, crying, laughing and chatting about the world in general and her in particular. They were married 59 years and it's amazing to know that they met by chance at a bus stop, and went on to raise a family and have grandchildren. It was lovely knowing her and I'm glad I met her, and knew her when I did.
I'm sad, but happy at the same time.... and happy to have spent time talking with him.
