I hate Christmas.............
#11
Around Christmas access to an activity I enjoy most becomes veryrestricted, I just have to manage with whatever there is, or travel (either locally or to another country) and have less free time for family time and Escort bookings!

Christmas is just another day to me. Nothing ever changes on 1 January either. This is why I think celebrating it gives everybody false hope.

For most adults there's nothing particularly magical about Christmas it's great when your a kid because people give you things, I know people talk about the joy of giving but that's crap, where presents are concerned we'd all rather be on the receiving end of that arrangement.

The best thing about Christmas is a little time off work, a chance to chill out relax and catch up with friends and relatives.

Bah Humbug...

Life is what you make it, personally I love Christmas, this year I am spending it in Madrid and I am sure I am going to have a lovely time.

What I love about Spain is that having just returned, there was no sign of Christmas, most of the lights get turned on next weekend. But when they do it it is done with great celebration, not all about the "spend".

I went to Madrid last November- fantastic. I loved it.
The sun was so bright too.

And that's a hat-trick for those who love Madrid, I'm not trying to put a complete downer on Christmas but it is over commercialised, spare a thought for those who work in retail and may be back at work on Boxing Day whether they like it or not. Religion still has a significant influence in Spain (for better or for worse) so they probably remember it's supposed to be a Christian festival and not just a chance to flog more Playstations.

Me too, I love Xmas, buying the big tree with all it's smells (and annoying needles in the carpet later on), my gorgeous baubles in the tree etc

After all, we only live once, if we do not use every reason to celebrate everything throughout the year, when are we going to celebrate life?

We have always had a real tree and have about 150+ individual baubles that we have collected since we were first married, the largest tree we had in the house was just over 12 foot tall, when we had a house with a vaulted ceiling.

This will be the third Christmas, although third time in three years, we have not had a tree due to not spending Christmas at home, I do miss not having my own decorations and being at home for Christmas, but I also love the different places we have spent Christmas.
