So... after a number of recent threads along this kind of theme, I was just wondering what girls do when they get some such "offer" from a "photographer" on AW?
Especially when the message is clearly a cut'n'paste job?
Up until now I have, depending upon how bored I am and how mischievous I feel, either deleted or else replied along the lines of "Yea, great idea! I know a fantastic studio we can use and an excellent photographer who can shoot us getting it on together! I also know a really good hair and make-up girl who will make us look fantastic! Shouldn't come to more than about £500 for a couple of hours worth of shooting 'n' 'shopping I shouldn't think, so we can share the cost of that - what an excellent idea!".... just before pressing "BLOCK SENDER".
But there seem to be so many of these flying about at the moment which are clearly just cut'n'paste jobs that I am thinking that I might start using the "REPORT SPAM" button instead.
It's not that I resent guys trying to make a few quid... it's just that I don't want to be over-run with this kind of spam... cos that's what it is... so I want to discourage it. After all, as service providers, we are not allowed to indiscriminately mail potential clients on AW, so I'm not sure why that same rule shouldn't work the other way round too.
Don't get me wrong... nothing wrong with a guy legitimately trying to find his way into the industry and make some money out of it by putting up a profile and promoting it with all the tools AW makes available for all of us to utilise... but spam mail is not one of those tools and I don't think we should tolerate it.
Am I being cruel hearted?
