I don't like the idea of tipping at all. It cheapens the site in my opinion. I won't be doing free and I will be emailing AW expressing my displeasure at this decision.

That is a shame but so many are doing it already. Even Streamate is losing traffic to MyFreeCams.com.

They probably would have done this eventually anyway, but they have done it now because girls ASKED for it! Obviously views from the rest of us were not sought!

Just because "others are doing it already" does NOT mean we should be!

When the culture is changed to one of public shows for tips, very few benefit while the rest suffer. It is not a long term sustainable option for AW, as they cannot compete against other sites with this model, namely MyFreeCams.com.

**Re emailing them - I emailed them by using the help centre - typed in "tip" read the bit about the new feature, then closed it and a box popped up to ask did that answer my question, with a feedback box to send them a message x

I don't think others were asking for it, and if they were, it's because AW has taken a nose dive this year...you're lucky if you haven't noticed it.

I'm not saying we should be doing it because others are...just that it may not make much difference because the guys could get all for free before anyway.

AW can't compete with anyone without doing it.

This is aw's reply to my first complaint:

Thanks for your feedback. We're between a rock and a hard place, we have
only done this due to numerous requests for it. We have recently added a
Help Centre article about nudity in Free Preview.

DirectCam is pay per minute anyway, people are not block-buying minutes,
they can come and go as they please at the moment with you earning
pennies. There is an argument that with a minimum tip amount of 2 credits
for a flash or something quick - you'll make more. Clients that want a
longer session will still be able to get one.

It is down to the hosts as to whether they accept tips in exchange for
nudity. If they don't or don't want to, then the clients will have to go
private.

As with everything, we'll monitor it and if it's a huge fail, we'll remove
it. There's always arguments for and against and the for argument (for
now) has outweighed the against.

In our experience it is better to jump on the bandwagon and leverage your
clients to use these new features. The market decides what it wants.
Restricting people forces them to other Sites, we want them to stay here.
Spending something here is better than spending nothing.

They talk about restricting customers making them go to other sites... well that's exactly what will happen with the girls! Those who don't mind free chat, like yourself, will simply move to a higher traffic free chat/ tipping site and leave AW once they realize they can earn more there. As well as penalising the majority of girls, this decision is seriously the worst thing aw could ever do to themselves.

People are going to other sites...they're not going to admit the downturn.
