Content Sales (50%+ Drop) Has Something Happened to AW

We have some girls we help with their profiles, we shoot the content for them, edit it and then load it up for them... Think we currently have around 15 profiles active on AW that we help with... some do little bits of DirectCam/DirectIM as well... but certainly 70% of the revenues are content sales... We have 3 people who load the content onto the various profiles, and with the drop in revenues it's hard to justify that kind of investment of time and resources... If it continues into the new year we will have to revise our position...

I come from a sales and marketing background, I am actually launching a new company to pursue a more mainstream route already anyways... but I may have to find a sales job as that is a good 4 months away...

That is always handy to have, a marketing background, handy in any type of business. Do you pay girls for the content you make from the profile in your group? or do they make their own money through webcam, instant messenger with their own profiles?

It has been really quiet today for webcamming considering it is the weekend. I was told it is the busiest time of the year today for shopping as some of the sales have already began!!

I am hoping it should be busy on Christmas day for all of us!!

We do a 50/50 deal with girls on content, so it's basically content share... girls who shoot for my FMF Character are paid shoots... Apart from that they earn money from Direct Cam/Direct IM and also escorting...

I know Christmas slows things down... people are tied up with family stuff as opposed to enjoying porn... but I have never known a month like this, every time I log in and see sales I want to cry, we're literally earning around 40% of what we were 4 months ago... and December looks even lower (we'll be lucky to do a grand net profit) The drop since September is unexplainable...

I did see the stats for traffic to the profiles... I have only checked our leading girl "TeenCockTease" and couldn't see any considerable drop in traffic... so that pretty much rules that out, so if we're still getting the same amount of traffic to the profiles, that rules out a drop in traffic which I did think may of happened...

On some profiles we've even lowered the prices, AW have lowered their minimum pricing... as in the amount you have to charge due to bandwidth use... but have seen no increase in sales, doing this mean we need to sell around 3 times as many clips of a particular clip... and that as definitely not been evident... all very depressing...

How are the stats to your main FMF page looking?

To add a personal perspective as a buyer, video content is now streamable temporarily for 15 mins in most cases for at least past month or so. You can't download it, and you need to re-purchase to watch again after that time period. So buying content has become more of a renting deal. I know that means I'm buying a lot less at least on AW - the streaming on AW sucks on my connection speed.

Hmmmm... to my knowledge, the content is available for 24 hours... then if you want to view it again, you have to purchase it again, it's always been that way to my knowledge... and yes even though I am a producer of content, I have also purchased some in the past myself... but I guess I could be wrong... I didn't ever think the content was downloadable so you could keep it... ?!

Yep, they were previously downloadable.

Weird Ana all the times I bought a movie I was never prompted to download it... I will speak to AW and see what they say, I have always believed the movies on AW were now downloadable... Why for example do we set the "rentals" for 1 days access, 1 weeks access and unlimited, surely if they can download it, it's unlimited no matter what :/ Very confusing...

It used to be you purchased, clicked the video format button, and it downloaded. Certain formats triggered the browser's built in player but it was still downloaded and could be saved (simple right click -> Save As). Other videos just download normally and prompted you to save them. I usually downloaded right away, so I'm not sure of the 24 hrs limit. It's certainly not 24 hrs now.

The recent changes use the AW web player to stream so there are no downloads or saving available, and the video is essentially rented for 15 minutes, and you'd need a decent BB connection if the video is streaming in HD (until content providers get around to using HEVC/H265 for video encoding). It just sounded looking at the thread that this change wasn't mentioned anywhere as one possible input to falling content sales for videos. I suppose there's an element of opportunity lost here - it's unlikely folk will spend much time to search for the video on another site where downloads are typical. Most models don't advertise their other video hosting sites or use the same names on them.

We noticed a couple of months back sales starting to slow... but November was horrendous... like a drop of over 50%... makes me wonder what's happened...

Yes of course it could be the Christmas slow down... but if I was guessing, I'd say there is something else behind it... I keep my records of years gone by, and nothing like this as happened to such a level...

Not sure how many more people on here are into selling content ect... Think it's time to email AW and ask the question... not good Angry

I have to say, I've had issues with AW since around June. I Escort and cam and both have dwindled down to nothing. I've even dropped my prices quite dramatically and still nothing.  I've been paranoid that it's just me. AW has been my source of income for a long time, but now I'm lucky if I get one client a week. I've been on AW for years on and off and I've never seen it like this. After reading comments here and elsewhere, I'm convinced it's a site problem. I mean, where does AW advertise? It doesn't even appear at the top of Google searches.

Charlotte, do you have movie content to sell on aw?

No, only my private photos.

Oh ok, maybe indy movies of you doing stuff might bring in sales.. I have recently added clips to mine and its brought in a good number of sales.

Weirdly, the last few days have been pretty good. The hits on my profile are through the roof today and cam is nice and steady.
