I know you said the guys don't seem to like it, but I really wouldn't worry about whether the hotel is busy or not. I only say this because I have been in the hotel industry for 20 years, I've worked as a receptionist in the larger chains and for the last 10 years, smaller independents. The one I have just finished in (owners went bankrupt due to not paying any bills...thanks guys!), I worked as a receptionist for 3 years and manager for the last 3. We had 2 regular T-girl escorts, and a regular semi-celeb with his lady-companion who used us and even though we knew this and spotted other WG's a lot, we didn't bat an eye-lid and there was complete confidentiality on our part, even among our staff (in fact if I'd heard any staff gossiping I would have disciplined them as I firmly believe peoples business is their own, unless you're dealing/pimping etc). If you're booking, very little notice would be taken of your 'guest' and if he is booking, he's a hotel patron and the staff wont know whose room you are visiting. As Trinny said, the staff may be aware but to be honest, they don't really care, they are there just earning a wage too, usually minimum wage (if they are cleaners, receptionists or bar/waitress staff) and therefore not enough to make them want to 'police' the corridors! The more rooms rented out, the more hours they get and managers/owners want the rooms rented, that's where their biggest profit margin is, so long as your business doesn't negatively affect theirs, everyone is happy!
Maybe you could see if any other WG's, here and on other forums, know of hotels that are understanding or at least unconcerned of their work? I would imagine word of mouth is the best way to discover which you can safely and confidently use.
