I am sure your average escort / punter has no interest in hacking into Adultwork, so that is not the point.

There are plenty of people capable of doing so who have other interests, usually criminal.

AW has been subject to some DOS attacks over the years, it's been speculated this has been at the hand of 'rival' sites but nothing ever solid to suggest that was true.

There will always be people who want to take AW to pieces, thankfully it seems they're always on top of such things and any outages I've ever seen since '08 have been dealt with quickly enough.

Well that's the concern of course about having to use documents like Passports or driving licences for verification as that information would be a goldmine for those
involved in criminal activities fraud/ID theft but there really isn't another way to do it so you have to trust in AW's security measures.

Trust is a big issue on the web, those capable of hacking into servers have managed to hack into the top Criminal crime fighting organisations such as The FBI, CIA et as well as large financial institutions and government web sites.

So what chance does your average web site have if somebody is really serious about getting into your server?

Trust in an adult business is far more personal, you may be liable to be exposed by either those running it, including employees or a person that has hacked into the server. As in the recent case of the Ashley Madison web site data.

I will not join or go to a swingers club that asks for identification, so many now want proof of address / id in the form of a driving licence and recent utility bills. I would be uncomfortable to think that somebody i do not know who may employ another would have access to my personal details and be able to "out me" publicly should they wish to do so.

As we all know, there are some weird people out there... And many have friends that are willing to help them.

Yes of course for those of us who prefer to keep the fact that we're punters/wgs a secret(ish) if our personal details fell into the wrong hands it could leave us open to blackmail although as I understand it the Police do deal sympathetically and hopefully discretely with such cases.

On the wider issue of online data security I think I've only ever had one problem after using a credit card to make a purchase from the internet (not an adult site) my card issuer spotted it, a purchase made using my card details but not by me, I received a refund for the small amount involved.

Anyway what's happened to Belinda did she post just to plug her book or is she going to give us the benefit of her knowledge.

Good to know that but a little late after the event, if they have outed you to family / friends / neighbours...

Belinda sounds butt-hurt that AW won't allow her to use their platform unless she proves she's an adult. That's about it.

Shame the thought of a literary wg is a real turn on for me I'd definitely pay her a visit and who knows I might even get a mention in her memoirs......"Nova was the most amazing lover and his cock was huge........like a baby's arm holding an apple" OK she may have to use a little artistic licence there.

They have my ID and no problem so far, fingers crossed.

I have however been the victim of online credit card fraud several times, it's not uncommon and I do do a lot of online shopping.

Yes if the motive for hacking your account is simply to out you the damage has already been done but that being the case you could at least gain a little payback if the person responsible is caught and prosecuted. I was really thinking about a blackmail scenario where you face a demand for money or perhaps free services, the Police will handle such an investigation carefully.
