I understand what you mean Pan. It has to come from within to make change. When you feel that deeply about something, words an only scratch the surface x

So if you were mesomorphic as a child - does that mean your negative self image was in your head. I had no idea what mesomorphic means, so looked it up and it looks a normal body type.
Wow, 15 years in the gym shows some dedication and it sounds as though you have a great physique. Why do you fear stopping? What do you think will happen? Learning to take compliments is an art we should all be taught from a very young age. I could never accept a compliment, until I realised how ungracious I was being.

Same here on the compliant from. I'd say thanks but turn it round to a negative.
I love my body because it is me. If I don't feel comfortable in my own skin how will I ever feel comfortable with anyone else?

First I must say I have no model or porn delusions, my narcissism not yet being that bad. I would mainly not stop going the gym because of my wardrobe. When I say mesomorphic, I mean extreme mesomorphic. I have a 30" waist and my largest quad muscle is 23". To get trousers to fit them is no easy task.
The Gym is also my meditative place. As a boy this body type, if left to pasture ain't 'arf pudgy looking. Strong pecs under a layer of fat look like a damn good pair of breasts. So I sorted it out. But... I didn't mean my reply about me as I found a cure of sorts(apart of the fear of not keeping the look and abilities it's given me. More that it is as Kate said, more and more words, however nice and well thought just become patronising, and it is just sick in some cases, when some full of such prospect can't find a solution in their own head. I do believe the solution is 99.99~% there to be found by themselves. I'm sure that came across as a thick brush, too many issues for here even. I think there I far to much media hype about the perfect figure, perfect looks personallity etc, in the 50's Marilyn Monroe was the figure that every strived to have and women envied her, victorian times saw the minuscule waist. there is so much pressure put on especially young girls to conform which leads to all sorts of health and medical problems.
We are all at a stage in life we we should not judge people because of there size looks height imperfections. i think we should all look at the program my beautiful friends with Katie(sorry cant remember her second name)how she is trying to boosts peoples self esteem and change attitudes.

I rarely read magazines and I have no interest in what people are wearing and how skinny they are and in all honest why should I care who Jordan is dating or ruining the life of? I know I need to do some exercise to be healthy, but so many people that indulge in gym based exercise and sport games get injured it makes you wonder who is actually better off? I have spoken to so many men with shot legs from running and injuries from playing football or cycling you would not believe.
Everything in moderation. Be the best that you can be, within your own boundaries. If you feel good on the inside, then you will look good on the outside. Kate's philosophy |
