Send and recieving gifts through the post

Hi,

I would like to know if you use your home address or a po box address to recieve gifts from punters? I am not talking about amazon or AW wishlist. A guy wants to send me some lingerie and keeps asking for a address to send them but I don't have one just yet.

Also if a guy wanted to buy some knickers from my sales item on aw but wanted it recorded delivery, the post office would need by full postcode and number and street address.

Should I consider getting a po box then? what do you all suggest? and what do you do?

A PO Box includes almost the full address...it's really useless as a way of keeping an address private. I also don't send items by recorded delivery, first class only. I'd be really concerned about someone asking for my address, he must know giving out an address is a really daft thing for us to do.

When I send people things from my sales I put a fake buisness name and an old postcode and house number from a previous address or look one up thats all they ask for yu don't need a street name xXx they don't ask for ID so you will never be caught out that's just the way I do it . it's only so if the post office can't deliver they can send it back but like I say they don't check the address xXx



As for giving your address out I wouldn't reccomend it the only person that I gave my address to I had been talking through aw direct chat and cam for over a year had his full address as I had sent him sales b4 you need to be careful as there are some funny people once they have your address they could post it anywhere or do any thing better to be safe than sorry

I don't give out my address. Even guys who are coming here don't get my address. I get them to call me from a nearby landmark and then give them instructions on how to get here... it is pretty distinctive so I don't even have to give a number, and the location is slightly ambiguous so even if you had been here you would struggle to figure out what the address actually is.

I've had guys ask for my address so that they can mail me something before and I've politely asked them to keep hold of it until they come and see me next... but if you are talking about a cam client then i guess that is probably a bit different?

If you walk down your highstreet, you will probably see mail centres with things in the window like "letterboxes here". They allow you to use their address and they will either hold the mail for you or else forward it on to you... that might be a solution? Dunno what it costs though.

Definitely don't be giving out your home address, or even anywhere close! If you have to mail something to someone go a few towns away to do it x

Thankyou for your replies. I was thinking about getting a anonymous address where I can recieve mail from cam fans and then have the mail forwaded to my personal address. So a company handles the mail coming in then forwads mail to me at a small cost.

You say 'these days' like you've done it before. Start your own relevant thread with links to your previous productions, companies you've worked with, references/rates.... y'know... something that will make you look credible.
