Do you think this section of the forum is private?

We do, of course, have some private areas of the forum which can only be accessed by service providers.

Here is a question for you....

Do you think that the "Adult Workers Forum" (where this thread is) is private, or do you think that what you post here can be seen by all members and guests?

It can be seen by anyone, registered member or not. I found this out whilst I was away to Inverness and checked the site without logging in but was still able to read all areas (except private provider area).

Not wanting to stir things up again. But the main forum being open to all was always a bone of contention with some of us, as the previous administration wanted it open to maximise traffic.
At the time I was working in an independent school and had to be circumspect about the amount of information I gave away in posts.

Oh the good old days David whatever happened to them oh yes I remember just about everything was tweeted for all and sundry to see.

Men had access to the providers forum as long as there aw account was ticked to offering services.

The list goes on

I'd just noticed a few girls saying things in this part of the forum which I thought I wouldn't say publicly and I wondered whether they realised that this section was public or whether they thought it was private.

So I was kind of expecting that there would be a few people who thought it was private... but apparently not!

I was very surprised to find out on Escort Scotland that not only can guests read all the posts but they can also view the profiles of registered members.
I'm sure most people (especially if married) wouldn't have too much detail but I quickly deleted most of the stuff that was on mine.
Hope it's not the same here.

I was horrified to find that our email addresses are shown on our profiles by default...normally they are automatically private.

I have changed the titles of all the board areas to either Public or Private to highlight the area, also renamed the private access thread to "How to access the Private Service Provider Forums" to highlight this area isnt the private one.


For the emails showing automatically, this is the default of the software. I had to install third party software in order to change this setting. Its now been changed to automatically hide the email address.

Just to note, on this forum guests cannot view user profiles.

Also, we cant have two private service providers areas, one public and one private is enough I hope.

Yes know it's open, I agree some posts should def be pvt although I have and do comment on posts that are open otherwise be opening another thread on the pvt section e.g the quiet thread x
