Scary Experience with escort

Whilst I do not doubt the information given over the alleged attact, to get around the data protection and post a number anybody could make up an alleged criminal activity to post a telephone number.

I think it will probably be to do with passing information to the police rather than posting details publicly. we used to be registered with Data Protection and there was a box you could tick to disclose info to the police. If you had not, in the event of needing to pass on the info that you were not covered for, I presume the above would cover / exempt you.

Thanks for the comments. I decided to go with the posting of flyers around her area with the story and pictures of her on it. Hopefully some people will know and recognise her, especially the neighbours. If it means they can't work there again then that's something. It may even get passed on to the police by someone there too leaving me out of it.

I think that is a really poor idea for several reasons.

First off, I think that the worst it will mean for her is that she will move... then do it again.

The worst it might mean for you is that they track you down and make your life a misery!

Remember... she has your mobile number too - do you use a disposable sim?

An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.

Secondly... this is an allegation. I have to be frank and say - we only have your word for it.

I can't imagine what I would do if some nutter posted flyers of me all around the place alleging some wrong doing. I think I would probably get the police involved, actually. You may well find that you end up getting into trouble with the law... even if it's only a slapped wrist - what if a copper knocks on your door to ask you about it and your wife answers?

Thirdly....... the police do, as W4R rightly says, have to build a case. They may well already have some allegations made against this girl and your evidence could well be the thing they are waiting for.

This is not a good plan... in fact it is the worst of all possible plans - you'd be better off just sucking it up, in my humble opinion.

I would never condone violence and would never suggest that you do anything illegal, but if vigilanteism is your thing then you would need to send a clear message that they have messed with the wrong person. If you don't know how to do that (and I suspect you don't) then you are not that person so you should leave it alone or go to the police.

..... is me view .....

........... for what it's worth ..........

Good advice from Trinity, as she points out, yours is only an allagation, should you continue with your plan it could be said that you are the one harrassing her, your version of events could then be considered malicious and you could then end up in court.

As you are not happy to go to the police, it is best to just move on and forget it, the sooner you do the less miserable / frustrated you will be about the matter.

If he's not prepared to press charges, there is nothing the police can do... except interview her (and that's assuming they find her).

Currently he has only one advantage: he has more information on her than she has on him.

Simon honey... I think you should read W4R's post....

If she went to the police (which I would) and told them that this guy came to her for a booking (which he did) and that he was violent and abusive towards her and she had ended up getting her boyfriend in to get rid of him (which she did) and now he is going around doing this (which he is)... I think they would probably investigate.

He could very easily end up in the dock... or at the very least having a copper knock on his door at tea time.

I think he may well end up regretting it if he actually takes your advice...

However, if we assume his account is accurate: that is not what actually happened. He was conned and robbed. And maybe others wil be: last time I checked, the profile was still up on Adultwork (with feedback hidden to avoid alerting the next victim).

Of course, I get your point: it would be his word against hers. But (again assuming his account is accurate)... would a gang of robbers go to the police? It seems unlikely, they would need balls of steel. And without a police trace on his mobile phone number, the robbers won't find him.

Unfortunately there is no good solution. Personally, if this happened to me, I'd be inclined to take some action (and incur some risk) rather than simply let them get away with it: but I am not in a position to judge the OP's situation.

I already use a separate mobile for calling escorts, but I hadn't considered buying a disposable sim for it (with cash, of course)...

Definitely don't go down the flyers route! As has been said an eye for an eye is not the way... if these guys are organised criminals they will come after you and you will regret it - really not worth the risk.

Of course, the police could be tipped off anonymously. All the relevant info in a letter posted to the local police station. They might not be able to do anything much with it, but at least there would be no comeback to the punter.

I'm not sure what the worry is with going to the police?

The worst that can happen is they will ask him to give evidence... which he can refuse.

If it all went down the way he said it did then he has done nothing wrong... there is no crime in visiting a working girl... there is no crime in paying for sex.

The police will be discreet and keep it private.

A girl on the South Coast has just been released from prison after serving a year in prison for intimidating clients in almost exactly this kind of way. She was doing it for ages, apparently... trusting that guys would be too afraid to go to the police. Even as it was, she got a much lighter sentence than she would have had more guys come forward. Plenty claim to have been "victims" of hers, but only a couple ever actually agreed to give evidence. And if they had not have done, she would probably still have been doing it now!

But they did... and she's just spent a year in Holloway... I doubt she will want to go back there.

Hopefully she will not return to those ways.
