I made a comment on another forum about most indi girls probably having entered the profession through another part of the scene.

I wonder how true that is?

I was talking about safety really and being able to spot a potentially dangerous situation and take action to avoid it. It's a skill we all need and we have to learn that skill somewhere. My view, for what it is worth, is that a lot of us learn how to take care of ourselves through the experience of others or from being "controlled" in some way when we start out... working in an existing system with all the routines and what to do and not to do being handed down to you and being able to talk to others about it.

I'm guessing that increasing numbers of girls are going straight to indi these days without the benefit of having had any experience, but probably more "seasoned" girls have come in through another channel. It worries me a bit that inexperienced girls come into what is, in essence, and incredibly dangerous industry with nothing more than what they can find on the internet for guidance.

So... I was wondering... if you are an independent girl, what is your past experience?
