Yep, as I said. It's a story/fantasy? (but the appointment wasn't)

In the end, she chose the life she lives. But it has put me off 'punting'.

She wasn't that cheap either, mid range I would say from comparing others on AW.

I think it'll be some time before I make any more 'appointments' with a WG.

Its rather like finding a car mate and the same rules apply you keep trying until you find a lady that fits your needs. Once you have found a lady that ticks your boxes visit her a fair bit but keep looking for when she retires or heads of for pastures new.

I am new to AW for the reason he gives. I have a great lady who I visit but I am looking for a new experience and if I am honest a 'back up' in case my girl 'hangs up her heels' and retires.

My one attempt at a booking has not gone well. I spent a good time searching the profiles, created my 'top five' to contact and on Friday I called (twice), sent a text, and an email via AW.
(reading back this sounds a bit excessive but I was extremely polite and I was hoping for a date tomorrow, Monday). Anyway I checked my hotlist yesterday and her profile had been deleted!
Erased! No longer to be found!
I am thinking either she retired yesterday and I missed the boat....ha ha. Or it was a bogus profile? which she deleted once she knew it existed......after a week of checking profiles I can spot one or two which seem to have been created 'as a joke'....

Some girls do switch off their profiles from time to time when they are taking a bit of time out.

You might find she re-appears at some point in the future.

A bit rude for her to switch off without mailing you though!

Or... AW do seem to delete our profiles from time to time, which can be rather annoying.

Mine was deleted just after Christmas 2010.

A friend of mine got deleted a couple of months ago... she's been on the site for 5 years and is one of the most well known girls down in Sussex!

Not saying that has happened in this case, but just... keep an eye out 'coz she might re-appear

I must confess I do not understand the complexity or effort some of you guys put into getting a shag.

1. Wake up feeling horny
2. See who is working / available and showing a phone number to call, that you like
3. Call and make a booking
4. Go along and have a shag

Or am I over-simplifying it?

There are, I imagine, thousands of blokes who are happy to follow your 4 step programme. But there seems to be plenty of us who take a more considered approach.
We may be paying punters but if we are handing over our hard earned then it has to be money well spent.
When looking at the wine section in the off licence, I can spend a few minutes reading labels, choosing grapes, country of origin etc. Whilst there another bloke may rush in grab the £3.99 special and rush off again......it's all down to individual taste.... ;-)

Go into wine shop / log onto adultwork
See what wines they have on offer available / see who is working
Select wine go to counter / call girl make booking

And you do need to remember that plenty of guys will run into the off licence and grab a good looking bottle for £15.99 presuming that the price means it will be good... which is, I think, perhaps a more appropriate (and less offensive) way of expressing the thought your analogy was alluding to?

Oh, and Sarah... you can't have it both ways! Haha! In another thread you are bemoaning guys who don't pay attention to what is written in your profile and now here you seem to be puzzled by why some guys do so much research! I know which kind I would prefer to have calling on me.... Haha!

Seriously, though, I think a lot of guys enjoy the whole process, especially more mature gentlemen. It makes the whole thing into an experience rather than just "getting off"? They love it: doing the research; making a short list; reading the profiles, feedback and field reports; choosing their girl; the thrill of exchanging a couple of e-mails, eagerly awaiting her response; hearing her voice on the end of the phone for the first time (which is when she becomes "real"); the anticipation as the date drawn nearer; those nerves on the journey there; trembling as he presses her doorbell, wondering whether the girl who opens the door bell will live up to his expectations. And then there is the main event. But it doesn't stop there... he may think about it for days afterwards, and the final part of the journey is writing the field report and reliving the whole experience while he does it.

I think guys who do it like that really do get a lot out of it.

Others, of course, do like to just make a call and go. I think there is a certain thrill to that too... the spontaneity... jumping into the unknown and just seeing what happens.

There is room for both those things and everything in-between and either side - what a truly amazing business this is! So diverse and flexible

Not sure I am looking for it both ways....

There are those that do not read the profile, like the guy that called me the other day and could not find the room I was in due to him being in a hotel in Slough and I was in Swindon.

Then there are guys that seem to indicate a real problem with meeting with girls when there are hundreds to choose from in most areas on Adultwork

They are two diferent scenarios, but the latter is surely to do with having sex and relieving a primal urge, I think some actually think they are making a "date" with the girl and looking for some type of relationship. Or maybe it is the way they feel most comfortable with handling a meeting and paying for sex.

I guess the question to the guys is what do you actually visit escorts / prostitutes for? Is it sex or is it more than sex?
