It depends what kind of test they do... whether it is an antibody or an antigen test.
The modern antigen tests (used in all NHS facilities for about 5 years now) shows a positive in as little as two weeks, although they recommend that you leave it 3 or 4 weeks after a possible exposure to prevent false negatives.
