Well, I'm not from the camp which says that your sin is worse than my sin, so I'm not going to criticise you for the activities you, as an adult, choose to participate in with other adults who are doing so of their own free will.

What does concern me a little, though, is that because it is a niche which is hard to find, it is attractive for pimps who are coercing girls to offer that in order to capture the bareback dollar. Coerced girls often work in areas of the market place which others tend to steer clear of. That, I think, bothers me more than whether or not you are actually using a condom.

There is a certain amount of herd protection... those of use who are involved in this business are a fairly closed circle. I know it sounds a bit weird, but it's just the way it works.... protect the majority and the unprotected benefit from the protection of the rest. It's to do with the infection index or "basic reproduction number", which in the case of HIV is very, very low. So long as about 85% of guys and girls are using protection, the whole population is pretty safe.

Sadly, although probably 85% or more of people in our little universe are using protection, that is far from true out in the real world where the message has become lost and people have become a bit complacent.

In 2011 there were 6,280 new diagnoses in the UK, so it's not at all trivial!

And HIV is not the only risk, of course... just the most certain of resulting in a negative outcome!

For a lot of girls, chlamydia is even more of a worry. Guys aren't to bothered about it because it is usually pretty asymptomatic for them... but for girls, a single untreated chlamydia infection or repeated exposure to it can result in sterility... and chlamydia is rife with more than 120,000 diagnoses per annum.

There are all kinds of reasons not to do it.

If you know all of that and you choose to do it anyway, and you are certain in your own mind that the girl is acting under her own free will, then so long as you are prepared to accept responsibility for any potential outcome and you are not putting your wife/partner at risk then who am I to judge?

At least, if nothing else, you are getting tested... which lets face it, most men do not!
