Best things about AW:

AW is by far the dominant Escort contact site in the UK - I get more traffic on my AW profile in a day than I do through some other sites in a month or more. And to be honest, that is probably the single most important feature of the site.

On the subject of traffic... A girl doesn't need to create and promote her own web site - I don't have one and don't feel I need one because AW brings me more traffic than I could realistically generate on my own and it also means I am able to post a profile without having any particularly technical skills.

The profile layout and design is simple, clean, clear and uniform, but flexible enough for us girls to stamp our own personalities on our profiles. Guys know where to look for the information they want and so can draw up a short list of girls quickly and easily.

Us girls have options to offer alternative services which compliment our escorting work though a single medium. I only escort, I don't do web cam or phone chat, but I do have a private gallery which is not something I would easily be able to offer without sites like AW.

The feedback/field reporting system is clear and easy to use for both the guys and the girls. Although people complain constantly about fake profiles, I think an experienced user can quickly tell the difference and for many profiles the feedback/FR system can play an important role in that.


Bad things about AW (just for balance):

It is nigh on impossible to get hold of them if you need to. You can message them, but it takes a lot of digging around to find the place to do that and if you are a relatively new user it is a nightmare... and they don't always respond which is even more frustrating. A simple "Contact Us" link at the top of the site (like almost every other professionally run site in the world has) would be a positive step forward, even if the actual method of contact was unchanged.

They will delete your profile at the drop of a hat without any warning or offering any opportunity to rebut a complaint which may have been levelled against you. This happened to me once not long after I joined and in the end I got so frustrated with trying to communicate with them that I just started a new profile.

Which leads me on to - when a profile is deleted, you can just start a new one! Which was great for me (even though it meant I lost all my feedback and FRs) but it means that when a fake profile is deleted, who ever was faking it can just start a new one too! I know that AW do IP matching (which is how we know when a guy is running two or more profiles) so it would be easy enough to query a new Escort profile from an IP on which a profile has just been deleted, surely? The whole issue of fake profiles needs to be handled more professionally, is my view.

And while we are talking about fake profiles - Escort profiles are allowed to remain live for far too long. Sometimes you see profiles where the girl hasn't signed in for months! The site is meant to have a zero tolerance of people offering Escort services but not actually providing them... but it seems pretty obvious that a large number of profiles are either wannabe's or are just trying to drive traffic to private galleries and movies by claiming to offer Escort services. I think this devalues the site as a whole.

Quite a few features do not work for t-girls in the same way as they do for other girls, so searching for one can be difficult. Particularly, they ask us to define whether we are a male t-girl or a female t-girl which affects the search results and seems a rather pointless distinction to me.

They don't really seem to be moving the site forward very much and there is some danger that other sites will come along in the not too distant future to challenge their dominant position.... as much as I like it's plain and clean layout, it is starting to look a bit, well, old?

Sorry have to totally disagree with you on that point, you are right that AW does generate more traffic that your own site could but not all traffic on AW converts into business, that is not to say that AW is not the best form of advertising for any escort in the UK.

You are a brand, just like Tesco's etc... and as such your own web site can make quite a difference to your business. If you are a girl from Euorope looking to spend 6 months in the UK working, AW is great, If you are professional and looking to work at this as a career for anumber of years then a branded site is very important to you.

I have advertising on my site and the advertising makes far more than the cost of running it, but at a monthly running cost of $10, to take $30 in revenue is a profit. Not exactly an evening out but it does not cost me anything.

But I do get new clients from it, so that is far more important. I recomend using Twitter as well as listing your site on many other web sites / escort directories. it takes time to build a brand, but when you do it is worth it.

I have to agree with you Trinity. All of the clients who I meet from AW say that they chose me, not just because they liked my profile on AW, but because I have a good website that shows I'm serious about my job and it looks professional. Having a website seems to give clients more confidence in my services and it also gives them that extra reassurance that I am a genuine provider. It has definitely given my clients the incentive to make that all important phone call, many many times! I know this because they tell me when we meet!

Yea, for sure - I am inclined to agree with you for long term business. I guess my own exposure to this world is, by it's very definition, limited. I should have had "the op" two and a half years ago and sooner or later I will have to give up this lifestyle because the urge to need for the op grows almost daily, so I guess I see this in a somewhat shorter term?

Most of my enquiries come through AW, even though I do have a number of other presences (including Twitter! @Trinity_Belle) and at the moment I get more than enough without running my own web site.

I guess that if I were thinking in terms of staying in this business for years then I would probably consider it a must. But even when I first went indi about 18 months ago, I thought I would have had the op by now... which pretty much necessitates giving this up, unfortunately.

It's a real stickler for me... have the op I desperately want (need) or keep the lifestyle I desperately love.

In my last post I forgot to include the part that feedback and Field Reports play in the selection process. Both of these are really useful. However, some escorts don't/won't use the AW booking system so can't/don't want to be left feedback or Field Reports and not all punters bother to leave any sort of feedback. I think the feedback system had advantages for both clients and escorts however, even though I get a lot of work through AW, most of my clients prefer to phone and arrange a spur of the moment date rather than making a booking through the system. It seems to be only the supremely organised men, who like to make a booking well in advance, use the the booking system and leave me feedback. That's just my experience, does anyone experience the same thing?

I can usually only make spur of the moment bookings and after making contact by phone I usually try and make a booking on AW so I can leave feedback. In fact my last booking I arranged by text one hour before, made a booking on AW using my iPhone and all while sitting in the open office!
