These ladies must be so sad, fancy waiting for the phone to ring. To think I might no at least one of them

Maybe they are just organised Freddo, with not a lot of housework to do, but to call them sad is being a bit nasty.
Contact me on 07591889797 for any details of services.

I go to work for the day so am away from home for 2/3 days a week. In between clients I update my web site or read a book, I am getting a kindle for Xmas, can't wait.
When I am not working there is plenty of house work to be done, accounts / paperwork for our other businesses, visiting friends, going out for lunch, shopping....
Looking to vote for a ten day week

It is a problem of perception. A bit like the swan, men only see the serenity and ease in which ladies go about the booking. They fail to realise that independents are sole traders having to learn a diverse skill set from accountancy to web design, in order to run their business efficiently.
As with most things in life a skill that looks easy to do, actually requires dedication and continues development to make it appear so.

A bit of a sweeping statement & harsh judgement call.
Each to their own. It may not occur to you that they are not the slightest bit sad and enjoy the luxury of working smarter as opposed to harder.
You are starting to sound like the other prat on the forums these days, with ill concealed criticism.
It was not mean't as harsh criticism I just did not realise that ladies would just sit around all day waiting for the phone to ring some days I can imagine it being a long and lonely time if you have nothing else to do other than wait for the phone.
That is what I actually mean't by being sad if a lady likes sitting around all day drinking and smoking waiting for the phone to ring then I am not judging them but thinking of the days that the phone doesn't ring and they have sat by it all day

The point is Freddo, that the majority of girls don't do this, I would have thought you would have picked this up by the other responses.

I guess it is a sad, but moreso lonely sort of 'image' to picture a girl sitting waiting for the phone to ring. Most of the time it appears pretty far from the reality. I think you always have a choice as to how busy you are in free time. Some people like doing nothing (I do sometimes!), some people keep themselves busy. And yes... On the odd occasion I have sat and had a few glasses of red whilst waiting for bookings... However when they came through I found myself not wanting to leave my comfy, drunken, bubble. So I said I was unavailable and had a marvellously enjoyable time drinking the afternoon away instead

That is the whole point of being self employed, working for your self, sometime that does happen. my OH once sat in our shop on a Saturday, just after 9am he took £7, he sat there until 7pm that evening and did not take another £. Another day we could take £700
I have days when I am really busy and then the next day I may not take half as much, but by the end of the month my daily average is usually not much difference.
But you have to be there...
