'Prostitute' or 'Prossie' - What are your feelings about these words...
#61
All words for the same thing; words in themselves are harmless, the connotations are negative. Reclaim 'prostitute', make it a word of pride rather than a derogatory term,

I don't mean to be rude to anyone especially the working girls in here. But in my opinion being called one thing or another doesn't matter since they mean the same thing. Calling something by a different name does not change it. Be proud of what you are, you are not just doing it for money but you are doing it to make other people happy Smile

Just a quick post to give you a heads up.Posts from this and similar threads and tpoics are being used to compile a blacklist on a certain forum and their wiki page of ladies to avoid for being critical of them, their forum and thus being anti punter

They're not even real punters, just ill bred, broke (and probably underage) losers with too much time on their hands and no respect for women. They also have no idea what the difference is between a cammodel and an escort. No real punter would ever give credence to the drivel written on there.

@ markdee

Thanks for the update but we really are not too bothered what a load of muppets want to write about us, it would seem that just because you are unwilling to tolerate idiots you are a man hater. There is a big difference to the way I am with clients than I am towards "idiot punters".

Of the 22,000+ members I doubt if there are 2,000 guys that actually visit escorts / prostitutes.

I have no problem with being called a prostitute / pro$$ie of anything else they wish to name me and am more than willing to take their money when they visit me, I wonder how many have?

Mark it's nothing new, I read UK Punting but I'm not a member and I'd noticed that they'd often start heaping abuse on a particular wg for no apparent reason and it was only when I discovered this forum and saw the UK Punting thread I realised why, they rarely ever mention this forum though because they don't want their members reading the stuff on that thread. In fairness there are some great reviewers on that site who's advice I'm happy to take but their few and far between. The site has been overrun by the fantasists feel free to read my posts on the UK Punting thread.

Does their blacklist have any effect........no most punters don't bother with forums anyway, I know a wg on another forum who had just about everything thrown at her on that site and she's more popular than ever, I suspect most wgs view being blacklisted on there as a badge of honour.

Maybe I'll start a blacklist of fake punters or those who make false allegations or threats.

As for the question posed by the title of this thread, I use to use the term prossie but haven't since I was about ten years old, prostitute is to formal so I like wg and it's also quicker to type.

Escort or working girl seem a better way to describe ladies who are in this area. I only refer to them as Escorts, they get a hard enough time so give them a little respect, they are after all , human.

The likes of guys on UKP use the word pro$$ie in a disrespectful way, it makes them feel superior, as was said, it is far easier to type WG.

Prostitute: I am a prostitute NOT an escort, I sell my body for sex, I have no intention to spend time with guys getting to know them / social time. They arrive, have sex and they leave.

Escort: A girl that offers a more relaxed encounter, some social time, maybe a cup of tea or drinks over a chat etc... The guy is usually after sex as well, he just wants it to feel more intimate than just paying for sex.

As many girls do only provide a sex service (due to client demand), the term escort has become a wider used term for girls to be known as, even guys prefer the word as many would never consider having sex with a "prostitute".

Many will argue that an escort is still a prostitute as she has sex with a client, there is a certain truth in that but a builder may also be skilled in plumbing / plastering etc and would consider himself to be a builder rather than a plumber / plasterer.

In general the word prostitute is used in a derogatory manner, especially by the "boys" of UKP (probably because some girls get upset over the use of the word) in the same manner that a man would use the term slut / slag. In my working persona I find the use of such language a turn on but would take an offence to such use in public.

Other girls look at it with a different view, but as you rightly say, we are all human, so different.

I really don't think the term prossie is derogatory certainly not in the same way as words like slag, slut or whore etc it's obviously just the shortened/lazy version of prostitute I simply find it childish because it is a word I used as a child and I think I sound silly using it, I doubt even those who use it online actually use it in the presence of or in communication with wgs.
