'Prostitute' or 'Prossie' - What are your feelings about these words...

I quite prefer the term 'escort' then 'Prostitute' as I am not a street walker : )

If you sell sex for money, you're a prostitute... I have no issue with the word at all. And only immature wankers bother to write pro$$ie!

Exactly, I agree on both counts. When you look up the word prostitute in the dictionary it describes us so...

I do rather like strumpet and floozie though

Mind you...according to the dictionaries there are a lot out there not engaged in sexual activity who are also prostitutes so really are not half our politicians in fact fitting the description also.

Actually..on considering my last comment perhaps we should be insulted lol

Perhaps if i ever change my name it will be to Fanny the Floozie
Loose morals, tight fanny…isn't that enough?

In my opinion using the term escort sounds much more professional and respectable than prossie. An escort can accompany you in different events since she is professional and can deal with a lot of people while prossie may just connote that the girl is just a paid bed partner you can have sex with but not accompany you outside the bedroom.

When I was on UKpunting forum, i used the word "escorts" and was chastised for it, don't know why. When i first heard about AW, i always heard it referred to as an escorting site. a prostitute, to me, is what i would call a woman whom walks the streets looking for sex, whereas a professional sex worker would be referred to as an "escort"

I also despise the use of numbers to describe a specific girls attractiveness, something like "that girl is a solid 8" or "her body is a 9, but her face is a 6" etc. If you're going to rate something out of 10, then rate your phone service provider, not a woman. I am sure women are guilty of this (maybe to a much lesser extent) when rating a guy's hotness, but it's ridiculous to apply numbers to another human being.

Am i wrong in assuming this?

Does the 'report' button actually work on this site? Nothing seems to happen when I click it.

Lots of people have problems with the word 'prostitute' because it suggests criminal activity. I guess it's quite outdated and generally carries negative connotations. Personally I don't mind it but if people are averse to it, then fair enough.

I use escort/hooker/ho to describe myself. I find 'escort' a bit icky sometimes though, because I feel like it implies we're somehow higher or more elite/better/classier than streetwalkers, and I hate the idea of hierarchy within the sex industry!
