When I used to see people in person as a domina, I once had a client who wanted to pay me half at the beginning, and half at the end. I told him he could either pay all of it immediately, or leave.

I don't deal with face to face clientele anymore, as my life is quite hectic taking care of my two bullbreed dogs, however when I was offering domination in person, I had a few hard and fast rules. They protected me and the visiting client.

As a lot of my clients were into humiliation, I used the handover of money as a starting point. I would say to them, "since you're pathetic enough to have to pay for it, hand it over." (I realise people use sex workers for many reasons, this was just something I said to humiliation clients.)

If the client was into any other fetish that didn't involve humiliation, I would just tell them prior to the appointment via email or sms, that I expected the money in an unsealed envelope upon my arrival, or theirs depending on if it was an incall or outcall. I would have them take my coat, and check it then. Any excuses not to hand it over there and then, meant the session wasn't going to go ahead, and that I would leave, or they would. I also always bought my own bottled water, and made a safecall to someone, and invited them to do the same.

I always offered a few minutes to chat, and offered tea/coffee or soft drinks, (I also had them watch me make it, or allowed them to make it themselves) never alcohol. I disallowed alcohol as a lot of fetishes involved things that might be dangerous with alcohol involved, moreover, if you've never met someone before, you don't know their threshold for alcohol, or what happens when they consume it. I would never entertain someone who turned up drunk, nor would I entertain anyone who turned up high. The preliminary chat was to assess someone's demeanor, and to see if they were still OK with going ahead. Some first time domination clients can be extremely nervous, and so if they decided they couldn't do it, I would let them leave or I would, within the first ten minutes of the session, with no charges. Obviously if they wanted to rebook, then I would ask for a deposit to make sure my time wasn't being wasted. I would also ask for travel expenses for first time outcalls. Once you get to know a client, you can gauge things properly and be comfortable with one another. Build up trust and all that.

If someone wanted me to smoke for them, I asked them to provide the cigarettes, brand new and sealed. If they wanted watersports, then obviously I would say to make a point of saying that before the booking, so I could prepare. I did not provide a hardsport service, nor did I provide intimate bodyworship.

Some people do not realise that you can contract STD's and other nasties purely through intimate body worship and bodily fluids. Decent sex workers will have regular health checks and vaccinations against things like hepatitis, as will decent clients, but we cannot always be sure when someone is being honest. For those reasons, I did not allow things like facesitting or rimming, and if there was to be any reward relief for a gentleman at the end of a domination session, he would wank himself, and it would not come into contact with me. (I usually made my clients work for the privilege of being allowed to cum, good behaviour and politeness/entertainment factor etc.)

I insisted on cleanliness, and offered clients the use of my shower before and after, if they needed it. Again, refreshment was provided at the end of a session, as was a post session chat. That was mostly because domination clients can be a little spaced out depending on the kind of play that was going on, and I wouldn't want them to be wandering off outside and into traffic if they weren't themselves. Aftercare is extremely important, especially for more masochistic clients, who might be high on their own endorphins. I did not charge extra for that, they got their allotted time with me, and then aftercare was something I wanted to provide for my own peace of mind. Since some clients might have medical conditions, it was a good time to check if they were OK, especially if I was dealing with a disabled gentleman.

Domination clientele are a different kettle of fish to those seeking a full personal service, but a lot of the safety measures remain the same. Sometimes I was asked if it was OK to pick me up, but I declined because getting into the car of someone you don't know, can end very badly.
