Lounge or chillout area
#1
Hi,
I'm still slowly reading through the old threads, so I might necro a few.
I found the fav music one. Can this be pinned to stop it dropping off the thread.
Or maybe create a lounge area in GD to pin some of the threads that would otherwise drop off the page. TV progs, music, humour Etc

I'd like a SHARED CONTENT one to be pinned too so anyone looking for content knows who to come to/over.

No sooner said than done! Thank you so much mods xxx

IMO
Pinned threads just clutter things up. If a thread is popular then it will stay at the top, when it has run it's course it will fall away.
If every interesting thread was pinned there would be no room for new stuff, and the same old topics would just be added to ad infinitum.

KDB's suggestion has more merit, a shared content forum would be good, it would enable like minded individuals to get together and plan some interesting and possibly lucrative meetings.

That's why I suggested a separate area where threads like music,TV, chat, humour, FAQs Etc can be put without cluttering up GD. These can be added too without creating endless new threads covering similar ground. At the moment topics are degenerating into offtopic chats where a lot of that could be done in a separate area.

On a separate issue the security of this site is concerning me and its pretty much open, I have been restricting my input accordingly. I would be a lot happier if registration for this board actually meant a secure access to members only, this should apply to the twitter feed also. Protect it please.

I totally agree David as, when I joined this site, it was a lot more private than it is now. I understand that Admin needs to encourage new Members and the easiest way to do that is to make it more public but it then does put some people at risk of being recognised, if not by picture, by style of writing. So speaks the messenger of experience who got caught once by his OH purely by my style of writing. On a lighter note, I am still waiting for the explanation of why she was on the said site as well!

Ouch! Monty Were you forgiven?. I have been through my posts here and deleted a few. Just because little bits of information from each would have narrowed the field if someone was curious enough to go through my post history.

Freddo, as I said, I am still waiting for an explanation but you can be sure of one thing, I wont be reminding her!!! That would be akin to chucking a rock onto a wasps nest and hanging about to see what they do Big Grin
