Well I googled "Top cam girl sites" and AW doesn't get a mention Streamate certainly does, I was also surprised to see how many there are and related articles talk about the growth of the industry. Do some of you belong to more than one site and how does AW stack up against the others in terms of the trade you get and the money you make.

I think I'm right about why AW can't advertise more widely and it is because it openly advertises escort services not in a furtive way like Craigslist or Ashley Madison, the cam girl services on AW are just part of what the site offers and will always be linked to AW as a whole but the escort content on AW means finding places willing to take ads will always be difficult.

i only work on A.W so I wish they would advertise at least a little..I know with other sites they take a much bigger percentage of the earnings..something in the region of 70% ! I think thats bad Sad

Really don't want to discuss camsites and percentages out here in public. But yes most of us are on multiple sites. AW is one of many forms of advertising for escorts, they can use it in the same way as a back page add, with the additional perks of selling content etc. The advertising would be for us.

Not sure whether advertising is the key to everything regardless of being in the 21st century this site has operated very well and without ddos attacks till we got in the public eye people quite often prefer discreet no client wishes to be at risk of being exposed and in that respect there are others like us that may also operate a day job and the nature of a day job and this may well cause controversy or the risk of getting sacked ...

70% is extorsion, I've heard thwe figure of 30% where AW is concerned is that right, don't answer that if your not supposed to. The thing is AW would have to separate the services very distinctly if they wanted to advertise more widely and that would undermine the one stop shop adult site philosophy.

Advertising is most certainly the key to a good site, if a site is not advertised how do people find it? Even being listed on Google / other search engines is a form of advertising. Most of the advertising is done by the girls that advertise on the site promoting their own profile.

I am sure, when AW first started, it did advertise to help promote the site, it also ran half page ads in the Sunday Sport for a while

Clients do not risk getting themselves exposed unless they put up personal information / photos, probably about 90% of male users have no information on their profiles

This can be a risk at any time if you are not open about what you do. But for the girls that work at it full time, they need as much advertising / promotion they can get. And considering the 30% cut that AW take, they should do a lot more to promote the site.

it has been mentioned on this site many times that AW take a minimum of 30% of all credits paid out, that information is public knowledge and is freely available on the AW web site.

Why would they have to "separate the services very distinctly if they wanted to advertise more widely", you do not explain your reasoning.

They are hardly likely to be advertising in the general media such as daily papers / magazines, Tv etc... Other than possibly adult magazines / Tv channels, although you can pick up many local papers to find escort adverts in them

Many other sites, as mentioned above, do spend a large amount on promoting their sites on porn web sites, these are ideal places for targeting guys looking to wank themselves off.

As I've said before you no longer see massage ads in local newspapers because they came under pressure to drop them but you can still see phone sex advertised, not sure about camming but I don't see why not, yes porn sites would be a good idea but again there may be those who will take ads for chat and camming but not escort ads so AW ads may not be accepted because they feature both.

Nova perhaps you ought to stick to the punter/punting related threads since you don't know anything regarding how this business works. Your weighing in on escorting and cam related matters is really quite tiring.Aw don't not advertise because they can't, but because they choose not to.

I'm well aware that AW don't do much on the advertising front because I've read this thread, the point I'm making is even if they wanted to their options would be limited, your clearly not aware that anti-trafficking campaigners have AW in their sights and anyone taking an ad for AW even if it made no mention of the escort services would come under pressure to drop it.

You also have to consider how AW views itself, they are the advertiser their advertising you perhaps they feel that's their job done.
