Linked in...useful or pointless?

I'm on linked in but I don't feel the connections are as guenuine as when I was in corperate business.

Has anyone else joined?

I think I joined and then could not work it out, or was there something I did not like about it.

Do you need to put your face photo on your profile?

As with facebook and google+ it associates all your accounts and starts suggesting people to you from your non adult circles. Scary!!!! Plus, why would guys wanting camshows or escorts look on linkedin? It's for business networking rather than promotion direct to clients x

I echo what Katie has said, in my other business life I have used all the possible social media available as well as the various networking sites, LinkedIn really isn't the place for adult services professionals really! There is the worry of everything getting linked up, or at least suggested, but if you cover your tracks this shouldn't be an issue.

I guess there may be the odd gent who may be curious enough to look on there for pro's in our industry but I would very much doubt it's a very common thing.

Linkedin is also getting very money orientated trying to upsell it's membership, this will probably end up, as a result, clearing profiles they don't want to appear in the long run. What effect this would have on our industry I am not sure... Using LinkedIn successfully does take a lot of work though!

Personally I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole for this line of work.

I joined LinkedIn from a suggestion by my accountant and have connected with Charlotte above

So far had a lot of interest however one booking via a business man based in Singapore who was in the uk last week so I guess one meet isn't bad - however you never can tell where your work comes from - most of the time it's word of mouth and people chatting to people - so for a couple of hours a week will keep going - although have had some interest for corset modelling for a company !
