Cool, did you get to visit? I have to admit I have only been to Berlin myself, although I did meet one chap from the East and he didn't speak any English at all. Berlin back then was amazing.

Most of the Germans I've met have spoken English, but most of them were in England or Spain! I did try practising my German on a few in Germany, but we found it easier to speak French!
