charging deposits

ive been working as an escort for about a year now and recently i have not  been able to do incalls anymore which is not the issue the issue is finding a useful way to filter out the timewasters . recently i have decided to do a 30% deposit to secure the booking but customers have not been interested ? any suggestions ?

How long have you been asking for deposits for, and how many customers have said "No"?

I've been successfully using a deposit system with all new clients for almost a year and a half now. I find that quite a few won't, or say they won't, but I've enough clients who will pay a deposit for the first couple of bookings. I have had a few try to persuade me to accept their booking without it, promise to pay me cash when I arrive - I should hope so, I'm going to require the balance! Some say they've sent the deposit and it never arrives. I've also had some new clients pay their entire booking fee as the deposit, some really like doing things this way which is totally fine with me.

Other things you can do is ask for address proof - copy of utility bill, or speak to them on a landline which can be found in the phone directory at that address. If it's a hotel booking they can give you their reservation number, some will forward a copy of the booking details - do however be warned that some men still won't show even when the hotel room is still showing as booked, and one time I didn't know the booking was off until not having received his confirmation call I checked the hotel booking, and saw it had been cancelled. One way to make fairly sure he's in the room is to call through on room landline before setting off.

Some of this was too complicated or not possible for some, so I now charge a higher deposit which makes it a lot simpler - but that amount is no more than you are asking for.

The other thing is make sure you make it very clear on your profile, I actually say something along the lines of 'This is what I require, please make sure you are prepared to provide it when you make contact'. That way you are being totally transparent.

how I do it is I get them to send the deposit via bank transfer if they didn't send it I would know as I use mobile banking along with paypal ive only been doing this for a few weeks or so it is stated on my profile until I'm blue in the face lol but they just don't read it when I used to charge 150 an hour doing incalls it wasn't an issue didn't really need to take deposits but now I'm doing outcalls and I'm charging 350 an hour its a lot easier taking a 30% deposit so if the client decides to be deceitful or just plain out waste my time I can get home safely. as most clients like to phone and ask me to go to places like Watford at stupid o'clock but they start twitching when you ask for a deposit shouldn't be a problem when you've seen my rates and you have agreed to pay it but I suppose some clients just like to test the waters and see if I wont stick to my word because they think I'm young and stupid lol but I will post my profile so you can have a look and see if I haven't posted it enough times lol

Yes I did look at your profile, but the only mention I could find was in your FAQ where you said you needed your travel expensese paid. Then on a second look I think there was something in the middle of the paragraph about it, it didn't seem terribly clear to me.

I find with anything on your profile, being explicit and sticking to whatever you say is the best way - and of course many won't read the blurb, and some will but pretend they haven't.

Whatever you do you need to have a set procedure in place, and stick to it.

Did you know Paypal is reversable up to 45 days later?And if they find out it's a transaction for adult services, they can close your account down seizing all funds.

Oh and you must be reliable when taking deposits, I'm not saying you are not however you have to behave professionally.

I've had 2 situations in which I've returned deposits this year, one was a genuine calendar mix up on my behalf, the other was a man who had come across as a TW in his comms, waited hours, no deposit, then I accepted a booking from a regular. I emailed the first man and said "Don't pay the deposit the booking has gone", half an hour later he mailed to say "Too late", and the money did arrive shortly after. After I returned the funds he rebooked for another day paid a deposit, then got cold feet started sending me daft messages less than 24 hours before, umming, ahhing, something had come up, then on the day reversing his mind at notice too short for me to get ready and travel(and based on the cancellation email(which he claimed to have sent in error, which I replied to saying I was sorry he had to pull out) I'd rejigged my day. I just wasn't prepared to rush like an idiot, travel 45 minutes to have him have second thoughts again..........never heard from him since!

So guess my initial judgement was actually totally correct.

I deffo know where your coming from and understand what your saying in terms of returning funds ect in terms of your situation with the TW I had the same predicament back in the summer when I was touring Portsmouth gent booked me the first time than pulled out because he was nervous tried to book me 2 more times and I said no as I'm no longer touring Portsmouth and I'm not wasting money to book a hotel ect especially because of his track record of always pulling out last minute but than again most of his feedback was webcam based and I tend to get a lot of bookings like that from the webcammers
