Reverse Bookings - Etiquette
#1
Hello.

Last night I accepted a bid on a reverse booking I made for the beginning of April and the booking request that I sent asked the lady to call me today. Now the booking has been accepted but she has not rung me. So could someone advise me on what I should do next? The lady in question's profile says a verification photo has been uploaded, has 5 field reports which are all positive and her overall rating is accessible and says 69 positive ratings with 2 negative & 1 neutral.

Many Thanks.

If she bid on your booking then we must assume she understood you wanted to hear from her and the fact that she's fallen at the first hurdle doesn't bode well for a meeting several weeks from now. I haven't used reverse bookings very often but you do get bids from some who clearly haven't bothered to read the details because when you look at their profiles it turns out they don't offer the services you've requested or perhaps don't work in the areas you specified, I'm guessing they just bid on many reverse bookings and see what happens. I also noticed that you get bids from those who work in groups and that can mean that it's not the woman herself running the profile so it's not the woman herself making the bid.

Now I'm not saying that any of that applies in this case because I don't know who it is and your description of the fb and field reports etc suggests it's a perfectly sound profile, if your happy with what you've seen and read on her profile and still want to see her in April then you'll have to contact her and make sure she intends to honour the booking.
I'm really not bothered I like League One.

I never look at RB's but once the booking had been accepted I would expect the guy to contact me, as I never make contact with guys, regardless of what they want.

So I guess the scenario is

1. You place RB
2. I bid on it, along with 200 others
3. You select my bid and ask me to call you, when it is convenient for you, without thought to what is a good time for me.
4. I send you a message to call me

At this point I would wait for you to call me, it is no different to a normal booking that i get, the guy places a normal booking and asks me to call him, I never do.

if you want it to happen then it is best to contact her.

Hold on just a moment your always telling us to respect the contact and booking procedure detailed on the profile when we want to see someone and I agree, but this is a reverse booking and it's the punter who decides the rules so if a wg thinking about making a bid is not able to comply with his requests then she shouldn't make a bid.

200 bids unlikely unless your offering something pretty special, I've offered £150 for one hour on the few occasions that I've used reverse bookings and for the services I'm looking for and the area in which I punt that's slightly higher than the going rate, I get around 10 - 20 responses.
I'm really not bothered I like League One.

Good Morning.

O.K. Thank you for the responses so far.

I just want to clarify that she doesn't seem to be a member of any group since none is mentioned in her profile. Also she advertised that she covers the area where the booking is to take place as well as offers services that I have requested. As for my asking her to call me I did give her a time window between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 p.m. And finally (although this may be a mute point if that's the right phrase) There's no telephone number on her profile.

Many thanks.

You've got a bit of time before the booking date so if it were me (tho never done RB), I would send her an email just repeating the request to contact you (by any means she prefers?).

If no answer within your timescale, I would consider sending her a cancellation email.

TBH I am not the best to be trying to answer this as I never get involved in far-ahead bookings and if I were an escort I would no doubt find it difficult to keep control of my diary but that's just me.

But it seems natural to make the effort to politely find out if you can establish 2-way contact as spending weeks not knowing the situation when you are thinking so far ahead is unsatisfactory.

In your opening post you said you accepted her offer last night, she may have fixed times when she's on and offline so hasn't seen the accepted notice yet. You also say above you gave her a time window to call today between 9.30am and 10.30pm..... 9.30 was forty minutes ago and she still has twelve hours to contact you in.

What's the hurry?

Just to clear it up for you Ana_X I accepted her bid on Friday evening and the time window was for yesterday (Saturday) and not today.

I still feel there's something of a rush on your part. It could well be that she has real life commitments and doesn't do admin on weekends (in the case of some parents) - the booking is over a month away after all.

Of course if you feel in your gut that something is amiss you should cancel and seek an alternative arrangement.

I wouldn't worry about the lack of a phone number, some only display a number when their actually available and some never display one at all and only supply it after a booking is confirmed but of course it does mean you can't phone her so your only alternative is to email her requesting the call again. Another thing to look for that may indicate she's part of a group is links to other profiles on her page, bottom right hand corner of her profile, I only mention this because when I've used reverse bookings I've had more than one member of a group bid and their messages are identical which tells me it's not the woman herself responding.

I agree with familycatt about not making bookings too far in advance as it means there's simply more time for something to go wrong but having said that I've had to do it myself recently because the woman concerned only comes to London every now and then but I have to say it involved minimal comms on both occasions and has gone very smoothly.
