Personally I do not assume that every girl who works is exploited or being forcerd to do so.
For many of the Eastern European girls that do not speak english, do not have the finances or ability to travel to the UK on their own, do work for others who will help them set up over here to earn the money they can not earn back home doing the same work.
But there is a big difference between girls that are forced to work against their will to those that choose to work for others. This is the same for girls from the UK, many girls work in massage parlours or via escort agencies, many choose to do this rather than work independently, as it suits their lifestyle.
It has often been said, by people from outside of the sex trade industry, that all girls that work as prostitutes must be being forced to do so, or be doing it to feed a drug habbit. This is not the case.
Exploitation, at what point is a person being exploited? There is a general assumption that if you work in the sex trade and do not work for yourself then you are being exploited by that person.
Exploitation comes in many ways, but if a person is offering another the chance to earn money that they can not get any other way and that person is happy with that arrangemnet, is that exploitation? Some people have limited choices so have to go with what is available to them or go without.
If there are so many blatantly exploited and trafficked East Europeans women on Adultwork what are the authorities doing about it?
