Okay, been in looooooong e-mail conversation with AW over this... I'm not going to post the whole conversation, but I will give a brief summary.

Essentially they've said they are kind of between a rock and a hard place because they are trying to clamp down on the fake profiles and people who abuse the site, and one of the tools they can use is the verification photo... but it has to be kind of self policing... so the pic has to be available for guys to check against pics the find in the galleries to make sure it is the same girl and that the pics in the gallery haven't just been robbed off the internet.

What I've said is that as only 2.5% of profiles show their verification pic, it's a bit of a broken arrow.

I've also said that as all cam girls are fully verified, whether or not they choose to show their verification pic is slightly moot.

And furthermore, I've made the point that escorts count on discretion so as not to become "known" in the local community, and not to have our homes or working apartments marked down as knocking shops, because if they were then our clients would not be safe to come and go as they pleased, discreetly and anonymously.

And the other point I've made is that as many, many girls choose to obscure their faces in their free galleries, the verification pic doesn't need the face to be shown because it won't help the guy to make an informed decision if he can't see the faces on the images he is comparing it to! But if we were allowed to obscure our faces in the verification pic, then at least he would be able to compare body size and shape and hair colour and style and so on. Showing our faces in our verification pic when we obscure it in our galleries would just be outing ourselves for no benefit.

Anyway... I do have some sympathy with Adultwork. It is impossible to please everyone and what every they do they are going to upset someone somewhere! But they are working quite hard at the moment to try to weed out the scammers.
