Search Failing

Hi all,

i really do not know what do do, I have tried searching the internet, even tried to understand the AW code and reading up on javascript to see what is wrong but I just cant figure it out.

Basically I have a profile and i spent about 2 months going through it and blacklisting escorts in order to get my final group (eg bb, unprotected, not been on for ages, possible trafficked etc were all out)

however as i was looking at the london area this means I have blacklisted roughly 4400 (I can still acces my black list)
however now when I search, no matter how specific (Female, Escourt, Straight, London, Croydon) I get the following error.

While less useful, timeouts can be minimised by:
specifying gender, orientation and services
specifying Region and County/Area instead of a post code and mileage
avoiding searches based on rates, preferences and interview answers

New post code options have been added to the proximity tab, try post code area and/or districts.

For ages I thought it was the site crashing or not being able to cope, I did find at onepoint that it would work but only at about 2am. However I have tried all through the night and it just doesnt work at all.

I created a second profile and that works, so I am left to beleve that it is due to the amount of girls I have in my blacklist (if I click to search inclusive of my blacklist it works) Is there a way I can get this to work eg browers or something else.. I am all out of ideas..

My god, that's some stringent filtration going on there. I don't know the answer to this problem but it could be you've just got a cap on your blacklist and can't add any more.

Instead of blacklisting from this point on, why don't you switch to hotlisting those who do meet your desired criteria?

Yea, I do know a bit about SQL and it sounds to me as though your blacklist makes the search query too complex.

I think you are doing this the wrong way around.

What might be easier is if you do a search using your criteria for who you do want to see (which is simply the opposite of who you don't) then use the "save search" feature?

One of the search options is "dislike" so you can use that to exclude anyone who offers BB, for example, and the search facility also offers the option to select by how recently someone has logged on.

The problem with blacklisting in the way you have is that you are using the function for something it wasn't really designed to do. The best way to search is always to filter on the criteria you do want. Doing this should negate the need for huge blacklists. Once you've got the results, you can fairly quickly add girls to your hotlist and just blacklist the few who slipped through your criteria.

Here is a search for female escorts within 2 miles of CR0 who do not offer BB or unprotected and have logged in this week, sorted by amount of escorting feedback:

... there are only 86 girls in the results, with the most reviewed at the top. It should be fairly easy to build a hotlist from that! And it should also be reasonably easy to blacklist any who have slipped through.

You should be able then to use the "save search" function to make life easier next time.

I am looking at the whole of london, i picked croydon as an example.
problems with the options above is that at first I used to exclude location eg barking, tower hamlets etc because they were too far. problem is WG move aroung and you blacklist thee girl not the location.

There are also so many girls who 'like' bb yet in their profile you cannot even ask.
do a search on like bb but dislike unprotected or vice versa, but they are the same thing bu you still get profiles.

also to go back to the option you both state i would ave to unblacklist all 4400 one by one!

is there not a way to clone the front end search pages and change the script to a longer timeout. It may take a time to run, but it will run none the less?

This is my bugbear with the 'likes' list. It's a list of what the girl enjoys, not a list of services provided and it's why my 'likes' list contains barely anything these days because it is taken by most as a list of services offered. A confusing feature of adultwork I must say.

For example, she might honestly enjoy bb sex with her partner/husband but not offer it to punters - and if she does webcam/phone she'll probably happily talk about the subject too because it IS something she likes ..... but just not something she's willing to give in exchange for cash, y'know?

Maybe doing a London wide search isn't the best of ideas. Everyone updates their profiles regularly, things change - services, prices, locations, hair colours, body shapes etc. Why not pick a location you'd like to visit, see if there are any girls there who float your boat and just go for it?

I've said this before and guys usually laugh, but I've gotta tell you... not everyone knows what "bareback" is!

I think it is quite common slang amongst the yoof, but quite honestly, I had never heard of it before I came into the profession. You've only got to look at how many girls have "hardsports" ticked... I mean... really??? I don't think there are many who really enjoy that, are there? A lot of girls just tick everything, I think.

As Ana says, the "likes" list is taken to be a list of services offered, so most girls use it as such. But not all girls do - especially newbies. Some girls, perhaps cam girls in particular, do use it as a "likes" list.

AW tried to introduce a "dislikes" list recently, but they went about it all wrong. They just automatically put everything we don't "like" onto our "dislikes" list... which just isn't the case. There are plenty of things which are not on my list simply because I don't particularly want to encourage the kinds of guys who are looking for those things to come and see me... it doesn't mean I dislike them, nor that I won't do them or at least negotiate a price for doing them.

So I wouldn't get too hung up on the "likes" list if I were you.

I really don't think you can mod the script because it is server side script, not client side. The timeouts are there for a reason... if lots of people were running complex searches like that then the server would become overwhelmed and everything would slow to a snails pace for everyone. So sadly, I think you are indeed going to have to go an un-blacklist all 4400 of those girls... one by one - sorry!
