I thought there was vat payable on earnings over 71k?

Dunno about that one... if annabelle says so then I'm inclined to believe her because it is AW who would be subject to VAT and it would be AW who you would have to charge VAT to... and if they are not in the EU (which they are not) then there is no VAT?

Am I wrong re deducting featuring and positioning then, cause that's what I have done for my tax returns

You can deduct them, but only if you count the credits you earn as being pounds sterling earnt... if you are only counting the money which hits your bank as income then you've already deducted those costs... you can't then deduct them again or else you are counting them twice!
