Aw clients with aliases

Was just doing someone a good turn (in fact i was really flattered that she felt she trusted me enough to access her account) and this has happened...

Will have to add some kind of explanation at the bottom of my emails in the hope people will believe me.

I doubt you'll get any help from AW but as long as you don't let anyone log into their AW account on your computer or you log into yours on someone elses then the aliases will disappear in either 3 or 6 months from when you last accessed her account (can't remember which).

In the meantime I'm afraid you're stuck with them and you may have to put up with the fact that some girls may not accept a booking from you because of it. It may be worth making bookings by phone for a while and ignoring the AW email and booking systems until you've lost the unwelcome baggage. Is there a girl you know that you could email after 3 months who would be happy to check if they're still there?

This discussion has got me intrigued - being the techy type that I am I access my account via my Mac, my iPad, and very occasionally from my phone. Does this mean that I would have been given aliases?

I'd heard talk of them before but imagined it was where you have more than one profile and they get linked, sounds like I am wrong.

I'll have to get someone to show me how my profile appears to someone else. I fondly imagined all you saw was my feedback number next to my nickname.

You can log on from as many different places as you like ................ so long as NO OTHER AW MEMBER DOES from the same places. So you are right PP. xx

The following quotes regarding aliases are taken from another forum I'm on that some may find useful. Although the tech gobbledegook goes way over my head others may understand it.

Quote:Actually, it is nothing to do with people who have contacted her. It is solely to do with people who the AW system believes may be the same. One of the ways it makes that determination is if someone logs onto the same fucking computer! And - not an unreasonable stance to take generally!

The reason you get so many is that they use an inheritance propagation mechanism that seemingly causes what some would consider akin to exponential proliferation. By way of example: Let's say you use YOUR PC and then someone else used yours and THAT person had 5 aliases (rightly or wrongly) - then you would inherit their id as an alias PLUS THE OTHER 5. If one of those five had 10 further aliases - then you would inherit them as well and so on.

There's a bit more here on how it works when I asked if changing a user name would show up as an alias.

Quote:Changing your name does not cause an alias.

The AW system - in common with most others (including SP) - has the concept of a user id and a user name. So, whilst you user name on here is Hobbes, your user id is actually 36 (one of the early ones!). Similarly, on AW you will have a name - let's say "AW Hobbes" and an id - let's say 123456.

The id is used as the key and if you recall when you post an escort link you will see the id in that link - and it is the id that cannot change. The name you use is just information associated with the key - as are things like your IP address, password, hair colour and all the other ephemera that AW insist you tell them.

In the same way as changing your phone number (for example) does not cause you to have an alias, nor does changing your user name.

It is when you set up a new account - a different user id - and use that from an IP address associated with another user id that the system associates them and - in AW's case - creates the object that we refer to as an Alias.

Thus when any escort sees your name appear they will also see all the names associated (aliased) with it. As I have said in other posts this can be quite a large list in some instances as you inherit aliases from others who may use your PC.

Been on adultwork for a few years now and until recently very proud of my feedback until 2 ladies emailed me back asking why i had 92 aliases!!! i hadnt a clue what they were talking about so did some google'ing and am still no wiser. All i know is i have only ever had 1 account on adultwork

All i can think is but i did log in to a friends account on my laptop a couple of times for her as she couldnt access it... that and i access my account from my Android too.

The annoying thing for me is i cannot see this 'alias count' to even investigate it further.

Im worried (especially seeing the comments left here) that this will affect who will want to see me in future.

Does anyone know how i could get in touch with adultwork to get them to look into it?

Many Thanks.

This is an example of how you can end up getting aliases on an AW account.
It was all done with not knowing that how logging on to someone elses account on their lap top can than infect your own account.
It can easily happen if you do not realise that AW picks all stuff up like that.

Do not worry though as they will drop off in time, after 6 months I think.
Any lady worth her salt will realise what has happened though.
I have had it a few times that a gentleman has approached me who has many aliases, when asked why most do not have a clue why and are quite shocked to hear it.

The ones to be wary of are the guys with 2/3 aliases who keep setting up new profiles.
Us ladies can spot those type quite easily though.

I've had a techno phob newbie ask if he could give me feedback while still at my apartment, as he didn't think he could do it at his own place. I agreed to show him how to do it, but would not let him do it on my computer, as I new it would give him aliases. He didn't manage to do it at home that time, but after a couple of visits he cracked it by himself.

I think ladies should be a little more considerate and explain to guys who are just trying to be nice, that they should not use other people's computers to leave feedback or log in etc for this very reason.

I had a client that had an alias with red numbers next to it. It turned out that he had done a couple of cam shows with girls that ripped him off my not getting undressed, so he left them negative feedback. Unfortunately they did the same to him for spite, so he was stuck. He tried changing his profile and ended up making it look worse.
