Protein Power...
#1
So I've noticed I'm sporting a bit of a pot belly again nowadays... Which slowly seems to be creeping around to my love handles - AND I am starting to see the beginning of a new stretch mark on my tum tum... I am on an anti-depressant which interferes with the way my body processes and stores fat, but without my meds I would go psycho on your asses! Wink

Anyway, taking action as of tomorrow in the form of protein!!!

While I do love my curves... I am feeling a little uncomfortable with the extra weight I am carrying at the moment - and that's not good, as I think confidence is key when it comes to feeling sexy!!

I have had alot of success on high-protein, low-carb diets... In particular one called 'The Power of Protein' which is a very simple, easy to follow, Aussie version where you allow yourself 15g carbohydrate a day, and little to no sugar (I prefer no sugar as your body starts to burn fat far more quickly). Can still have my glass of wine at night as long as I count the carb value too...

In a nutshell, we're talking bacon/eggs for brekkie, chicken salad for lunch, and one of the high protein dinner recipes which include lots of green veg/other low carb veggies. You can snack on as much protein as you want throughout the day... I like to grill seasoned chicken wings, boil some eggs, or have some sliced cold meats on hand. Not too bad eh?

Last time I did this I lost 3 kilos in the first 10 days... Truly amazing results, and after the initial period I had more energy, felt less hungry, and ate far less...

Anywho... If anyone would like to give this a go, let me know and I can send you some details. I haven't been able to find the book I've got online - but there are plenty of others out there. If you can be vigilant enough to stick to it (which is not easy), you see results very quickly. Then after a little while you go on a maintenance plan... Took me about a month to lose 7kgs last time... And kept it off for ages!

Off to Sainsbury's now to shop it up... Think I might have something naughty for my 'last supper' as I like to call it... Take away - Woo!

You know you should try the Dukan diet, it's high protein but low in fat and you have to eat oatbran every day which you can make into, pancakes, bread, little muffins so you still get a carb fix. I loved it!
Stop Escorting Summer 2013 so Book while you still can!

My parents look fab after going Dukan... I just prefer to stick to what I know as I no longer need a book to know what to do. If I could be bothered reading a new book I would def go to Dukan also Smile

For my tuppence worth, I am on the weightwatchers diet plan which has suited me very well. I have lost 4 stone since Easter - just lately it is becoming harder to lose the weight mainly I think for two reasons - one is that I need to do more exercise to help lose further weight and the second being that the weather is changing and I do suffer from SAD syndrome which can be a bit of a downer when on a strict diet!

Diet ?? Huh Stop using bad language on this forum please Gia. Wink

I don't mind cutting down or eating particular food (but I'm defo not a veggie person - I like some but not many) but I hate cooking so I would have to get someone to do the cooking.

I am the founder of The Fat Bastard Club - does anyone want to join me ??? No second thoughts, better do what Gia is doing. Good peoples. Big Grin

I'll go sit in the naughty corner now .... how long is it for .... a minute for each year.............. oh goodness, see you all in an hour then. Sad

LL I used to be a member of the Fat Bastards Club and believe me, you dont look as if you qualify.

I only went on my diet as I had to for health reasons and am pleased to say the danger is over, just got to keep the weight down. Mind you, I am still fat, just not as bad as I was he he!

Thanks Monty for your sweet words.

Truth be known I DO have to lose weight too Sad but getting time, energy and enthusiasm together at the same time is proving elusive for me.

Like yourself I have to lose the weight for health reasons .... I WILL have to make an effort. Need to see the doc for a referral to gym for initial tests. I keep using that as an excuse and its not good.

Kick up the ass from everyone please. Blush
