As you get older it really does not matter as much. When you are younger it can be hurtful your lucky your mum was so understanding about the age difference otherwise that could have been a bit of a nightmare for you.
The only downside is when you are in your prime as such he will be a OAP

but go for it hun it is up to you if you are happy thats all that matters xx

My son is 18 and in all honesty I would not be happy if he came home with a gf my age. I think when you are very young and date some one twice your age you have to grow up very quickly, you take on responsibilties, he might not get to have children if she has already got kids and doesn't want any more and if she has a steady job, mortgage etc and he wants to travel and see the world he'll either have to scrap the idea or do it without her, which would make the relationship hard work and maybe he would not enjoy it so much.

Just seems lots of negatives and not positives.

Of course, he is my son and I would never turn away from him, but my initial reaction at least would not be positive.
