Dare I ask what he has done

8.30am theory test (4th take) he forgets his provisional. We scoot back home and he pics up the card bit. Get there and he goes up while I park. I'm just putting the money in the machine and he comes over saying he can't take it, as he needs the paper bit. I'm annoyed and tell him to go back with me, as I can go and get it while he takes the test. He refuses and waits in the car. I go back and the chap at reception says that he can take the test if I go get it. Son refuses to go back, says it's all my fault, because I had wound him up he would fail anyway. I start crying, he takes his bag and stomps off.

I'm so angry with him. He says he didn't know he needed his provisional because I always sort it out, but this is his 4th time!!!! And surely even with the mistake made, you would expect for him to try and sort it out, not just give up and leave? Where does he think the money comes from? My Mum paid for his lessons and she is a pensioner.

Not a good start to your weekend I think teenagers take a lot for granted we do to much for them and when it comes to doing or thinking for themselves they struggle my 17 year old can only just manage to make a cup of tea never mind anything else.

You need to make him realise that money doesnt grow on trees(not easy i know) and that he is almost an adult so has to start thinking like one

Hope your day gets better xx

He's sent me a text saying that he has got a list of jobs to apply for and that he will pay for the test he just missed and the next one. If he does I'll put the money back in the driving fund for his next lot of lessons and final test, but what a relief if he does finally get off his backside and do something!

He's come back home and gone straight to his room after complaining about having not eaten anything. I offered to cook but he told me not to. No apology, still sulking.
