I think it is one of those things like being a Mason, even without the funny hand shake etc.. those that know, know and those that do not have not got a clue.

A girl with a keen eye in the right environment will pick out the guy that is looking for company, he will probably be the one that is not trying to pick you up with a free drink, has sussed you out, as he also knows what he is looking for and will approach you without drawing attention to you or himself.
