Shared content...? - curlytots - 29-04-2012

Hi people,

Wee question - excuse my ignorance - only been here a month or so and still tweaking with the site and trying to find my place, as it were.

How does shared content work and what does it entail?

Am I right in assuming that your profits from private galleries/movies/erotica will distributed between group members or something..?

An idiots guide is what I need, lol.

Cheers people.

Shared content is where two people get together to produce content to sell on their own profile. This usually means there are no fees either way, but it can also mean reduced feees are applicable depending on the arrangement.

I sometimes meet with guys for free in exchange for taking photos, or offer a discount to meet me if they want a copy of the content to use.

Bottom line is: 2 or more people produce content to be jointly owned and used by all of them

Ahhhh I see. Thanks for replying Sarah...

So, this content is therefore separate (from your own content already uploaded currently) and profits/monies are only divided up with the 'shared' stuff?

How does it work when I am not offering escort services though? And I don't meet up with people etc...? I am solely a phone sex worker.

No money is divided up shared content can be used by all who helped produce it. if you help to produce content with a person on a shared basis you get to keep a copy and the right to use it.

How you do that is up to you...

Anybody can sell content on AW you do not need to be an escort, you just upload it to your profile OR you could upload it to a clip sharing site or your own web site etc...

Right, I've got it now, thanks so much for taking the time to explain it to me.

When joining a group I have been told that you need to give your username and password to the admin manager of the group so they can add you, is this correct?

Yes thats correct but be very careful joining groups, 99% of the times there is no reason to join a group and it may have more disadvantages than advantages.

Change your password before giving it and change it again after being added to the group.

Well, I was thinking maybe it would be good for the exposure on the front page etc? The person that is the admin manager is a well known personality on AW and I have spoken with her on the phone and it all seems perfectly genuine Smile

There are lots of ways to appear on the front page without being in a group Smile

I don't know much about groups so looked at the help pages out of interest...http://www.adultwork.com/Page.asp?PageName=Group+Home it also says " but it is not a route for escorts to get increased exposure on the site. If you really are not part of a group as described in Why create your own Group this is not for you."

To me, featuring yourself as an individual looks like a more effective way to get yourself on the front page.
