Hi lovely ladies. Smile

I am sitting here writing my website in an English version, but I have some trouble with my wardrobe.

In mails I have always mentioned my 'hofteholdere' (eeh hehe) as Garter belts, but a while ago I came across an article where they called it Girdles. Is one American and the other one English? Or is one newer and the other one is an old frase? Or has it no difference? Or?

Which word is most correctly - what do you use?

Heeelp. Huh

/Gina

if its like a suspender belt i would say that or garter

if its deep & meant to hold u in with tiny suspenders i'd say girdle
It's just to hold the stockings and keeping them from falling down to the ankles.

Great! Thank you, both. Heart
This is our version of a garter [Image: blue-silk-rose-wedding-garter-ivory-trim-149-p.jpg]

As everyone else has said. We call it suspender belt.
Kate, we call that 'strømpebånd'. Closest would be something like Stocking Band or Stocking Ribbon. Smile

The meaning of the word Suspenders (in Danish: seler) is only used for the shoulder straps to keep the pants up.

Oh God, I have alot of work ahead of me. Confused
lol it is funny how we kind of cross over with meanings, but they have slight but significant differences.
It's funny - and it's close to giving me a headache, too. Big Grin

I am thankful for my years as a researcher, it gave me the gift of patience. Otherwise I would be screaming and climbing the walls right now. Wink
