I used to get 70p pocket money every week... 50p from me pappy and 20p from me mammy, plus if I washed the car I could earn an extra 50p. I didn't really eat sweets or crisps and I wasn't really into comics or magazines, so from the age of about 9, most of my money went on records!

(.....until I discovered cigarettes)

Bay City Rollers, tape sangalang..

my parents had a newsagents, so i had to do a paper round in the mornings, i was the last one out on the round and had the nearest one to the shop and was always last one back. One night a week i did the free papers too... till i got caught dumping them... bad girl!

My first album was a Top of the Pops compilation album in the late 70s, can't remember what songs were on it, just the diappointing realisation that the songs were all covers by session singers! Angry On the sleve there was a scantily dressed model, which my older brother and his friends stole off me......somethings never change.....hahaha

Second and third buys were Grease and Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, I think I bought most albums released in the early 80's, I still have lots of them, Synchronisity and Duran Duran being my faves.

This morning I have been reliving my youth, listening to Wigfield on YouTube! Wink
