hello, I have been asked by a few escorts to pay some money as a deposit before we meet. Say I did pay half and they didnt turn up would their be any way of me getting my money back or getting them into trouble wit hthe police?

Nope..
You gave them the money so its no criminal. It would be a small claims matter.
I would be vary of anyone asking for deposits for "standard bookings". Unless the bookings are unusual (in length or value) then there is no need for deposits.
I see why some girls might ask for it but as you see here there are risks on both sides.

The only way that I can see a genuine girl asling for a deposit is when she will incur large travelling expenses to get to you.
Say you did pay and wanted to pursue it further that would mean small claims court, is that the way to go do your research and you WILL find a genuine girl that DOES NOT ask for deposits

If they have a lucrative private set up, then they are unlikely to jepodise that by making such a bold move.
I've asked for deposits before, but inly in unusual circumstances.
Occasionally I am asked to go to far off cities like Aberdeen or even to continental Europe, for which I would require a deposit.
But if you look at my profile it should be fairly obvious that I am genuine, so it shouldn't cause you any concern.
Maybe you could post a link to one of the profiles you are talking about?
