Creating Content & Making £££
#1
Hi All

I'm thinking about creating some video content for sale on AdultWork via the shared revenue programme i.e. members click on my clips to view, earning me a % of the rate I've set for each clip.  As far as what the actual content will be, that's still tbc, however I'm toying with the idea of starting off creating 5 and 10 min clips featuring solo females, continental posing, toys, fingering.  So nothing that's not been done before tbh.

I suppose this is a difficult question to answer ... however I'll ask it! ... if the content I create is decent enough in terms of the models featured, their interaction with the camera and actual quality of the clip itself, is it almost guaranteed to make me money or, given I'm not creating anything 'niche' will my clips simply be lost in a sea of clips with little or no sales?

I appreciate you have to speculate to accumulate and all that, however before I invest some £££ actually making the content, I was wondering how likely the stuff is to actually make me money on AdultWork?  In short, does practically everything generate income?

Any advice welcome Smile

I have movie clips I uploaded years ago still get plenty views and guys never get fed up with watching porn do they.If they see something new that appeals then they will likely view it.Just be careful with the file sizes especially the shorter clips as minimum prices are automatically set according to how big the file is and you wont be able to lower it.......x

If only it was that easy...

You need to create a "Brand" and heavily promote it

Time as well as money is needed but most of all the ability to run a business.

There is no doubt if you do nothing apart from invest in & create the film clips you will get your money back through Adultwork eventually.

Your own web site / Twitter account along with "promoting" stills from the clips with links to your AW content page will help

Good luck

Gotta love the optimism of newbies Smile

If your profile is set to distribute content only without a female face to the business who also offers other ways to interact with prospective buyers then you're going to have to do some heavy advertising to get people to find and purchase from you. Sales will come, but you won't be buying a Ferrari any time soon.

Thanks for the replies and advice all. Someone else was saying to me keep AdultWork clips relatively short i.e. up to 3 mins and anything longer consider clips4sale.

I'm fortunate in that I don't need to create a revenue stream that will sustain my day to day living, however what I'd like to achieve over the next 24-36 months is the creation of a sideline if you like that generates some additional income for me. I'm happy enough to put the effort in with a view to succeeding however I'm also a realist and accept it might lead nowhere!

Thanks again.

My thoughts are in line with Ana X on this.

Take a look at those profiles set to content only....They have very few views and you generally need views to make sales!

Also consider the costs of producing and editing, paying models, the need for model release forms, the quality of the models ( the better and more savvy ones will create their own content). Then you need at least one unique selling point. As you say, you will initially be doing nothing that hasn't been done before. The success of selling content on AW is often based around the content producers offering something else too. That may be the potential of real time meets, phone chat, webcam, direct IM, lingerie and used items sales!!

Having more than one income stream is always a good idea. We all bring different skills, abilities, levels of creativity, marketing skills etc in the creation of income streams. However, there is one thing in which we all have complete equality.
That is we all have exactly the same 24 hours in a day.

If achieving an additional income stream is your goal, then you could use your time far more effectively than in the production of adult content. x
