Phone number charges driving me nuts!!

I put up a phone number a while ago... I removed the number and untucked everything relating to the number however, 1.20 per day is taken regardless contacted aw direct said I activated it and therefore they won't refund however, this is costing me a lot if money with no benefit I gave not had a number up for months any credits on there are being used to pay for something that does not exist.... I do not know how to stop it!!! Surely this us not right or fair.... Some help here would be greatly appreciated
