Important - Verification Pictures.

It seems that AW have decided to try to force girls to show face pics in the form of our verification pictures.

For those of you who don't know, a verification picture is different to being a verified member and verified members are as susceptible to this problem as non verified members.

When a guy performs a search on AW, he has the option to tick a box to show only members who have a verification picture.

But AW have changed the system so that to appear in guys searches under that particular criteria, you must actually make that verification picture publicly viewable to all who view your profile.

If you, as a service provider, choose not to allow your verification photo to be viewed then your business will suffer as a result. This is strong arming girls to show their faces, and for no good reason.

Those of us who choose to remain discreet by not showing our faces will be disadvantaged and a number of girls have already commented that the number of views on their profiles has dropped recently.

So... I've written to them:

I uploaded a verification picture when I first started my current profile. It has always been there... I do have one, you've checked it and accepted it and it is still there. But it has just come to my attention that when a service seeker searches using the "has verification picture" option, my profile is excluded from the results, even though I do have one. From talking to other girls who have found themselves in the same position, it seems that this is true for verified and non-verified members alike. And it seems that the problem is that when a girl chooses not to make her verification picture viewable, she gets excluded from the search results.

This hardly seems fair.

Plenty of girls, escorts especially, choose not to show their faces for discretion reasons. It is important to some of thus, especially when we live in small, close communities, that we do not become "know" in the local area, and many girls working in all areas of this industry are concerned about being discovered by friends and family. The truth is that we *have* uploaded verification pictures and you *have* checked and approved them. So if a guy wants to find a girl who's verification picture has been checked by you, then he should be able to do that.

What should not be happening, in my humble opinion, is that every guy who happens across our profiles (some 180,000 in my case) should be given the opportunity to view that picture and see our faces. This is, as far as I can tell, a recent change to the system and I am just curious as to your rational, because as a professional service provider it seems crazy to me. Would you be kind enough to please explain it to me, because I really don't understand? Thanks. Trinny. x

Could you imagine if Adultwork ruled that all service seekers must upload a picture of their face for all and sundry to see? The place would be a ghost town.

Some service providers have everything to loose if they are maliciously outed by a disgruntled client or jealous competitor service provider - I can't understand the logic Adultwork has applied to this decision.

I can understand that when searching for escorts, guys will want to search for verified girls...but do we know how much they are going to be concerned about having a cam session with someone who's verified?

Personally I do not see why Adultwork should show the verification photo, that is the same as verification ID it should all be kept private therefore to not show a difference between people that are happy to have their face shown and those who are not.

Unless AW have actually put out an update to their rules / T&C then I suspect it may be more of a computer error than something that is meant to be that way. Computers do not usually make mistakes it is usually the person that programs them.

Blimey... from some 29,000 escort profiles, only 1,000 have a verification picture?

Nonsense... it's just that most escorts do not want their verification picture shown. I'll bet a lot more than that have actually uploaded one, and had it approved by AW.

I hope you are right Sarah... I hope it is a glitch.

It's been like this for a long, long time and like you I worried at first but I don't think it's having that much of an impact. Guys are still finding me, plus the number of (a) ladies who are verified and (b) show their picture is very low.

This policy however has made me think it's not really particularly worthwhile becoming verified if there's no benefit on the search facility.

I'll be uploading a new face verification picture this week and displaying it publicly I think. I'm not hiding anything from anyone so for me it's fine. I'll keep an eye on my profile hits after I do so.

I show my face anyway, so have uploaded a new verification pic earlier today. Will let you all know if I see a marked difference in hits.

Hopefully AW will change this for those of you who want to hide your face... doesn't seem fair

I think it does make a difference when guys see the green verified stamp on your actual profile for sure. Then they know you are who you say you are. This is especially important for escorts. When it comes to the search 'm not sure how much of an impact it has, but it's certainly unfair.
