Yes don't get scammed..
The best way to avoid being scammed is remember if they are asking you for money it's a scam!
You will be competing with loads and loads and loads of other men for what was is only a few jobs.
To be taking seriously you have to come across serious. I imagine companies will want to see photos of you so you might want to consider having some done. Also be clear on what you are prepared to do/not do.
Also think about the job, as it is a job. Just because you like drinking in a bar doesn't mean it's fun to be a bar tender
