Hello all,
I have some questions about DirectChat, PhoneChat and Texting. So as not to invite unnecessary replies (camming, escorting) I need to say that I offer DirectChat and DirectIM and i'm thinking of adding prebooked phone and texting too. But i don't see any advantages.
On DirectChat the client does not have your mobile number, and there is no timewasting. As clients call you and get cut off automatically when their credits end or if they end it.Therefore, I was wondering what the benefits of the prebooked Phone chat are as compared to DirectChat?
Correct me if i am wrong, but you make and confirm a booking then wait on Skype or other medium. Disadvantages i see is that you have to keep an eye on the clock. Some men will try to keep you on longer. Also, surely if you give you Skype ID to someone they have your direct contact? Why then would they not 'skype' you whenever they wanted? Why would they go thru Adultwork?
I am not sure why people use phonechat then. To me it makes sense to use DirectChat. Can anyone with experience of both show me some advantages? I also don't understand why someone would display their phone number on their profile. This means that clients can call you whenever they like? Invasion of privacy? If you put your number on your profile how do you make money if the client calls you? Or is that just for those offering escort services?
About the texting facility, i don't see the sense. Why not use DirectIM for text chat? Also, if you offer the texting facility, does the client see your moible phone number if when you reply?

Texting is extra money, it's different to IM and different guys like different mediums. Your number is never shown.
Again, pre booked phone us just an extra way to make some money. Some guys prefer to book in advance for a set period of time.
I've offered Skype (for prebooked can shows not phone) for 4 years and never had a guy I added try to recall me for free. I look in every guy brought to Skype as an addition to my 'indie call list' too. But it's easy enough just to delete from your contacts as soon as the call or show is finished.

So if you offer texting, you only see an adultwork number and they too see the another number? like the DirectCalls? do you make money per text?
From your experience which is more popular with clients, the prebooked or directchat?

Texting is 50p per text sent to the client. You don't see each others actual number just an 'exchange' number.
I can't speak for other girls but direct chat is far more popular for me. I prefer direct chat as it's harder for punters to take the mick and try and get freebies. They also don't have your number on DC. I have had a few (usually younger boys) who feel it's fine to text me outside of the AW system to see if they can book a call whether I am available or not. You do have to be strict with them.
That said, I have only had 1 person call for a freebie on Skype..........I just declined the call and removed from my contacts

Thanks Lola, maybe its just my prejudice but i fear as much. DirectChat is safe, i really don't understand why a girl would use prebooking if she is not escorting. For escorts its a good idea to get as many 'private' clients so they can convert them to paying clients, but i see no advantage for girls only offering chat services.
I don't do camming either. So i probably don't make much compared to others here. anyone know what an average figure is for girls only offering directchat and directIM? I look at the profiles which are the 'loudest' and wonder how much they make by featuring, offering movies, and camming..

I'm not sure anyone will discuss money but I'm sure it will vary massively. Personally IM is pants for me and I don't generally use it as it brings in nothing for me.
I think the idea of prebooking calls is just another avenue for you to earn money. You could always grab a cheap phone and use that as your chat phone then you can turn it off when you aren't using it.

Just stick with directchat if you don't want the risk of phone chat bookings and guys keeping your number, very rarely do guys abuse your phone number or skype , as Lola said you get the odd chancer for freebies but you can block them on skype

I feel that with prebooked chat it is guaranteed how much money you are going to earn. With direct chat you don't know if the call will last 2 mins or two hours. That's a pain if you offer direct cam too. I've lost count of the number of pvt shows I have turned down because I was already on a direct chat call, then the guy hangs up after 2 mins!
For both prebooked cam shows and phone chats always set a minimum time.
I only use an old payg mobile that is switched off when I'm not working. I also offer free phone for pvt shows only, some guys prefer to talk and don't have a mic. I have never had anyone abuse my number.
I have a work only Skype too, no real info is available to guys there. The guys only get your Skype name once the booking is accepted and confirmed.

This leads to another questions. Does the PAYG phone used for clients to call you, have to be 'adult' approved? by this, I mean, when we register with Adult Work they require our phone to be 'adult' approved by checking with the phone company that you are over 18 and happy for adult services if you do DirectChat. Or can i stick an old mobile number on there for clients without adult approval?
I suppose it wouldn't make sense to use the same number I use for DirectChat as this means clients will have my number and i'm not comforatble with this. At least with the old mobile for incoming calls you can switch it off and only put it on when a call is due and booked already.

Clients don't get your number on directchat they only get your number via phone chat bookings , if your worried why not offer phone chat bookings where you call the client ? The client still pays your fee but you phone them instead and with hold your number when you call ? Providers do.increase there phone chat fee per minute if they are phoning the client or chat using skype ?
Phones need to be adult checked or content lock removed for aw phone chat and directchat calls , depending on your network this is pretty prompt and straightforward
