No sound on JCI - maturesally38k - 06-02-2020

I don't know if anyone can help me, but have been having problems with JCI for some time, I keep getting disconnected from the JCI server.  My husband bought me a new Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, which is much faster than my other laptop.  I have tried using it for camming, but find I cannot get the sound to work properly, am told that either punters can't hear me or my voice is distorted or a lot of crackling, drowning out my voice.  So my dilemma is, I have a laptop that won't stay connected or a Thinkpad which has no sound.  Can anyone point me in the right direction to get the sound right on my thinkpad, as the connection on JCI is great.  My husband has been fiddling about with my thinkpad for hours trying to rectify it, lol, and just wondered if we were missing something easy to rectify it.  Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi, without the thinkpad in hand or teamviewer access that may be a hard one. For JCI though, its most likely internet or a bad mic. Using the built in one for a test then one on a webcam should let you know if its hardware. If not hardware its most likely the internet. In JCI you can increase audio quality in the audio settings, 42.4 is the best I believe but if its your internet this woud need decreased.

If you can catch us on whatsapp when you are free we can run some tests for you and if you have teamviewer on the older machine we can have a look at it if that helps also.

Thanks

Hi Admin, thanks for your reply. I don't have teamviewer. I have now found an old laptop that JCI and sound is working okay, so am okay at the moment. I will try increasing the audio quality as you suggest, as I did have it on the default setting. I have a fast internet connection and use an ethernet cable to give me the best connection, so will just see how it goes. Don't have WhatsApp, really don't like all these apps, lol. Thanks again for your help.
