Someone has told me 14 days,  another has said 30 days so I'm not sure. 

I dont want to loose my profile and feedback but need to hide myself for a month in the new year

You can change it to seeking services instead of offering if that helps - 
No time limit and you can just change it back again when you want - Nothing is lost on your profile all pics, feedback etc will still be there ..
Your seeking services profile won't show anything as far as I know
Online help have the answer under this:
I'm going away, should I remove my profile or can I stop it being viewed temporarily?
