I'm trying to get my webcam up and running on my chromebook.
I have to use JCI lite as it's not windows O/S
I can see others but they can't see me.
I "think" it is because chrome has
http://www.videochat.tv/ listed as not secure. I can't override allowing access to my camera "for my own privacy/safety
(you can see the settings by right clicking on the padlock on the left of the address box)
How do I get around this?
Hi, maybe try
https://www.videochat.tv
If not, I can message the owner of the site to get more info on fixing the security certificate.
Hi, I have messaged the owner.
Thanks
Hi, owner confirms not hosted on SSL and I dont believe they intend to change it sorry.

Shame, I think more and more browsers are going to start rolling this out. Perhaps a threat of AW switching to another supplier might make them change their mind?
It seems it's really easy to do?
Incidentally, it did link up in IM chat yesterday morning for a minute, but as soon as I relogged in for web cam it refused!
Hi, I believe google de-ranks sites without it also and more browsers will require it yes. Im sure there is method behind their madness at this point.

I have seen this post about flash on chrome:
https://www.adultwork.com/LKBA.asp?A=808
however whilst it allows flash, it is still blocking access to my camera, so the problem is not entirely solved.
also .... is there a reason why we cant offer directcam and directIM at the same time?
